...at the way it creases?

I have a waistcoat from Wested that is creasing in a very interesting way.

Dare I ask WHY it's creasing in an interesting way? You're not wearing it as a "below the waistcoat" are you?

Looks like Horsehide to me. Lamb usually has very, very small pebble
pattern. Goat has a pebble pattern too, but its bigger pebbles. Horse and
Cowhide have the kind of grain you are showing.

Its either Horsehide or Cowhide. In some instances, unless you have
the leather in your hand, you can't tell the difference between Horse
and Cow. The Cow will be thicker and heavier than the Horse, but the
grain is almost exactly the same. The jacket you show does not look
that thick, so my guess is Horse.

There are some cases where WWII A-2 jackets are said to have been
made in Cow instead of Horse, and you can not tell them apart they
look so similar unless you actually get one in your hands and feel it.

So, thats my guess...
