Salt Lake City Airport Gear head Spotted with unusual ROTL

Post by Cowboy »

I was flying through Salt Lake today and spotted a Gear Head next to me waiting to go through security. I asked him if it was a Wested. He said yes and wanted to know how I knew. I pointed to my Wested that I was wearing. His was the most odd Raiders jacket I have seen. It was typical ROTL with d-rings (not typical) and had 2 (or 3?) white bands simmilar to WOTW. Any one know what this was? We never got close enough to chat.

Was it something like the one seen on Peter's "prototype" page?

No it was not and it was definatly a Raiders. I first noticed due to the cinch straps and cargo pockets. We were only 2 feet apart. Problem was that the flying Nazis split us before I could get two words in. Maybe it is for the new movie? The guy did seem a little surprised--he had to think a minute before admitting that it was indeed a Wested. When he asked me how I knew, I pointed to mine. It WAS a Wested to be sure!

No way. It WAS a Raiders. WE ALL CAN SPOT AN INDY JACKET A MILE AWAY! It is nothing like anything on Wested website. It looked like a hybrid of ROTLA and maybe WOTW? But it was not even really like WOTW either. Wish I could have asked him about it. If he is from here, maybe we will hear the true origins?

It sounds like he used the Raiders jacket as a base and then had Peter add other stuff to it. The rings do sound like the WOTW jacket or the Wolverine jacket though.

Are you sure the guy was even an "Indy Fan"? He could have just found Wested online and liked the look of the Indy jacket and decided to have it modified.

It was close to the above with the white stipes, but no cigar.

Would you not have to be a gear head to know that you can alter it?

I wouldn't think so. I mean if you saw the jacket on the site and wrote Peter or Gemma and asked if the Indy jacket could be altered with that type of a mod you wouldn't have to be a "gear head". :)

This is a unique mod as far as I can tell. I would think if the person was a member of the site they'd have posted images of it.
