How the heck do you pass the weeks, days, hours & seconds that slowly tick away while you wait for your new jacket to arrive? This wait is excruciating. Especially considering that I’ve only ordered it 2 hours ago!!! So I’ve been trying to figure out a few ways of distracting myself in the meantime but I still haven’t found the perfect activity. I’ll list my thoughts hoping that someone will jump in with something that’s worked for them in the past….
In no particular order:
Start reading a novel.
Problem: Will imagine every character wearing Indy jacket.
Start writing a novel.
Problem: Will write in every character wearing Indy jacket.
Start a new hobby.
Problem: I don’t have the facilities to take up making leather jackets!
Watch TV constantly as a distraction.
Problem: Will wear out DVD player with Indy films.
Further problem: Will notice minute details and tick off Wested with ever-changing specs!
Buy a new car.
Problem: Can’t afford 1932 Auburn to go with my jacket.
Drown your pain with food & alcohol.
Problem: Jacket won’t fit by the time it gets here.
Take up a video game.
Problem: My computer is too fast for those old Indy games (‘bout time we had a new one).
Further problem: Notice more minute jacket details and tick off Wested even more!
Renovate the kitchen.
Problem: Don’t think wife would go for ‘authentic lambskin’ kitchen cabinets.
Have an extra-marital affair.
Problem: Can’t risk wife getting custody of said jacket in divorce!
Camp out at Wested.
While this seems like an attractive option at first glance, further thought should rule it out (for most normal people anyway) *see local laws about trespassing and stalking.
So after much deliberation, I believe I’ve found something that at least manages to lessen the anxiety of waiting for your jacket.
….start planning your next one!!!
OMG I think I’m becoming one of you guys!!!
The Wait Begins. Now What Do I Do???

if the wait is killing you that much, i'd buy another jacket thats off the rack (us wings or expedition) and fedex it to you the next day so you can play with it until your custom order arrives.
thats a sickness i have with hats. i figure fedora's AB has cost me a little over a grand as i keep buying hats while i wait

I placed my order 14 hours ago, and my Adventurebilt order about 8 weeks ago. Here's what I've been doing:
-Read the entire Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy out loud to my 9 year old daughter.
-Read all 6 Harry Potter books out loud to my 9 and 7 year old daughters.
-Worked my regular shifts plus overtime to earn extra money for more Indy gear.
-Shot my Colt Government pistol a whole lot.
-Cleaned aforementioned Government pistol very thoroughly.
-Ran several miles on the treadmill.
-Did lots of pushups.
-Cooked large amounts of delicious and nutritious foods for my family.
-Pretended my wife was a mysterious film noir seductress and had several affairs with her (which is probably much better than an real affair!!)
-Watched Indy films over and over, hoping I look as good in my gear as HF, and hoping my orders turn out like I want.
-Severely annoyed aforementioned wife with details of ordered or desired Indy Gear
Stay safe

Don't worry. After so many years go by, they become one of the hobbies biggest supporters.
Heck, you should hear MY wife anytime I mention thinking about getting rid of some of my collection. You'd think I was giving away one of the kids!
Then again, I guess she thinks since I worked so long and so hard all these years obtaining these 'rare antiquities', like HECK I'm going to get rid of them anytime soon.
Regards! Michaelson
