Pre-Distessed AB Deluxe from Marc just arrived

Post by G-MANN »

Here are a few pictures of my latest Deluxe from Marc. This has gone through the Pre-Distressing process.

I have only had this for one full day so I am still working the bash in.

Well, it looks lovely. Is that just a light dusting I see on it?

Pre-distressed, eh? I didn't know Marc offered that service on his hats. I wonder what this entails and if it is reversible?

Well, regardless of all that, the hat looks SPECTACULAR!!!! I am continually impressed by what I see Marc produce, and it just makes me even more anxious to get my own AB Deluxe!!!

Truly an awesome hat you have there, G-MANN!!!

Alright, G-Mann, when am I coming over? I gotta see all your stuff.

I think the hat looks fantastic!!! Alot of predistressed stuff is overdone and looks awful, but this is very subtle and looks great!

There are a few specs of dust but 99% of what you see is Marc's distressing process, which is reversable by repouncing.

Agent5,

As I said, you have an open invitation any time you like.

Thanks for the kind words Gentleman!

John, would you mind taking a picture of the new roo hide sweatband you've got in there? - The pictures I made a while back, were so crappy, that nobody could see them :(

Thanks in advance,

Marc

Is the distressing just on the brim?

That's all I can pick out that looks different than a standard AB.

Thanks to all.

Especially Marc for always providing a magnificent product, every time I get a fedora from Marc (4 times now) he has done something to improve it.

The hat stands that I own I purchased from Capt_Zak

You know how funny this is, Fedora? Now you have to give a review of this hat and how it compares with your other Indy hats and whether you plan to distress it naturally or artificially and how you would recommend this hat to anyone and how it's worth the wait and...

So is the REAL reason why it's an AB Deluxe because it comes with cigars and Scotch?

Yeah, it is funny to me too!! I will leave the reviews for the other guys. All that I will say is this hat is billed as a Deluxe AB and the advertising is truthful. I told Marc in an email I was proud of his work. And I am. He literally sweats over these hats in his endeavor to please. And it shows.

The felt that Marc uses is some of the finest beaver dress felt available today. To me, Marc's felt is a true dress felt while my own is a hybrid of sorts. Both are pure beaver but they ain't the same. When I hold one of the hats I am sending out, the first thought that comes to my mind is an outdoor beaver felt, like the vintage cowboy hats that were softer rather than cardboard stiff. Yeah, they used to make western hats softer than today. When I pulled my new hat from Marc out of the box my first thought was, wow, what a dressy felt!! But don't be mislead by that statement. It is an outdoor felt but just feels and looks dressy to me. And it is a heavier felt than what I use. A little bit thicker. Well, I am starting to review and I said I would not do that!! Fedora

Now I putting this fedora through the ELEMENTS test. In less than a week it has seen snow and rain and just looks better with the wear and tear.

Great! Truely an adventure hat, isn't it?

Looks like it could stand some rough treatment out there "in the woods".
