Carolina Huskers are still available!

Post by zeus36 »

Even though these boots have been discontinued by Carolina ( I emailed them and got a phone call in return) they are still for sale on Ebay

You can do a search for posts on these close-enoughs in the forum. I think they are great boots and look very similar to Aldens.
They are lighter than most of my other work boots despite having a steel toe.

I just picked up my third set for $25.00!

The seller is: shoesforauction.

Here is a link to his store:

http://stores.ebay.com/Shoes-For-Auction

Just do a search for these terms: “Carolina brown 6” work boots”

Just for reference, here is the auction I won:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0073656676

So get 'em while you can, cause there will not be another production run.

You're welcome!

Didn't think anyone was paying attention out there.

With that kind of service, I'd be tempted to look into Carolina's other shoes as well! Very impressive, nice find Zeus!

I really like the 6" Gorilla work boots too. They have that low sole vintage look.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Yes indeed, thanks for posting that info zeus36. I was able to find a pair in my size and they are on the way via UPS.

Thanks again

Does anyone know how this store on Ebay is still being able to sell these boots if they've been discontinued and are no longer being made? Is there a surplus of these boots sitting somewhere and once their gone that's it?

That sounds like a fair estimate.

I asked the Rep if they'd do another run for this forum and she said that she'd check with the marketing guy, but he never did return my email.

I just got my pair in from the seller on Ebay. Got them for $24.99 :D
They are some really nice boots, very Alden, and very Indy in style and fit. I also love the fact that they are brown. Been wearing then all day, and they are very comfortable. Did some shoveling in them, and a trip to the grocery store and back, they already feel broken in, right out of the box.

I just got an email from the president of Carolina Shoes and started a new thread:

P.S.

There are about ten different sizes of the Huskers still available on the shoesforauction storefront and at a lower starting price. Here is the link:

Picked up a pair for $19.99

Post by kobol »

Well today I just received my pair (Carolina 164's) that I won for $19.99 from Shoes-for-Auction. I'll give them a try this weekend. The first thing I did notice is how light they are for a steel toe. I hope they wear well.

By the way, I noticed a few more in different sizes up for auction.

Thanks.

Are you sure they're steel toed? A lot of the new saftey toed boots are now high impact resistant plastic.

If these are the same type of Carolina Boots (Huskers) I scored off of Ebay a couple of weeks ago (also for $19.99, from the Shoes-4-Auction seller  ), then they are indeed real steel. The tags on the boots and some other information that came with them stated that.

They should be the same as GCR's pair. I received them from the same seller. According to the literature and a little metal dogtag that came with them, it's states "steel" The metal dogtag states "Certified Safety Toe Real Steel" with the literature stating that it can withstand 2,500 lbs of pressure.

I'm just not sure if I'm willing to test that fact out. I kind of like my toes the way they are now.
