I don't know about you but this doesn't look like D rings to me.

There is another scene where the straps are shown. That is when Indy cracks his whip to catch Willy at the end of the film. I watched it a few times but can't make anythiing out of it.

And who said only difference between ROTLA and TOD is one inch extra length? What I see here is that the action pleat goes all the way to the bottom and stops about one and a half inch (or so) from the hem

I know the IndyGear.com jacket page says something about antique brass pronged buckles.

right you are IC. they supposedly had a pronged buckle (like the indy holster belt buckle)....the straps kind of acted like mini-belts in a way.

i was thinking of doing this conversion on my TOD jacket when i get it.

ok platon, here's the challenge......we need to find these 'end bar buckle hardware' thingamajiggers. i've searched and found a bunch but they all have only 1 prong. we need 2 prong end bar buckles and it looks like they should be in a matte black finish (or i can get them painted).

....and if we find said creature, we then need a way of getting them on the straps....might have to cut the loop and hope a leathersmith can install an invisible seem on it

what we know:

- peter botwright did make jackets for TOD which came into the care of individuals with 'sticky fingers' and they went missing.

- the TOD production company in need of jackets for the movie sourced jackets from a "french company".

- noel howard is in possession of a screen used jacket.

what we do not know:

- who made the actual screen used jacket with the tight fit and tiny pockets and pronged strap buckles

- if peter did indeed make the jackets the same as he did for raiders except for that extra inch in length

- if the jackets seen in TOD is indeed old raiders stunt jackets

- why is it taking so god #### long to deliver my TOD wested!

This one is pretty close, if you except the roller.

nice find? where can you get those? do they have a seem (ie - can they be bent around a 1" strap)? i do not see an easy way of installing these onto existing straps as you need to penetrate the parent strap as well as the adjoining strap. i'm thinking you'll have to pull the whole leather strap loop off to install this guy.

I will try to find those on the physical market and then I will answer all your questions.

Here's a shot of the NH jacket, not perfect, but you can tell it's a one piece buckle.

Thanks for that pic, Blues.

Looks EXACTLY like the Raiders stunt jacket. Seems as though HF simply grabbed one of the ones left over instead of a new one.

Looks like this is one of those things that's been overlooked on the Temple jacket since day one. Unless I missed something. I suppose if you really want a screen accurate TOD you'll have to get the pleats done this way.

That's almost what I mean. On my Wested, the pleat stops just above the side strap. There is no pleat after that. On the photo posted above we see that the pleat goes all the way down until say 1.5 inch from hem.
