I took some new pics of my Jimmy Pierce. Hope these are better than what I posted before.

The hat looks awesome, but I think it needs a little taller of a crown, IMHO.

That crown height is just right, man! Everybody has gotten so used to seeing these really tall (sometimes cartoonishly tall) crowns.

JP does a pretty fair hat, don't he?

Good show with the hat comparison shot! Very nice to see these two put together like that and it does show off the Jimmy Pierce hat nicely. You did a great job on the bash too.

For myself the 5 1/2inch crown took some getting used to since I was wearing a Stetson Chatham before that. It has an even lower crown & smaller brim. I don't think my face shape & physical size could pull off a taller hat.
Now the real fun begins as I await my Adventurebilt.

Hey Kobol,

Out of curiousity, how wide is that ribbon on your JPD? And, also, what size is the hat? (If you don't mind my asking)

In some pics, the ribbon almost looks like it's 1 3/4 inches, rather than 1 1/2 inches, but I can't tell for sure, as it could be just the perspective messin' with me.

Nice lookin' hat, anyway. I can't wait to get my order confirmed and get my new JPD, too!

And Tone, once again, that comparison looks awesome!

Hello GCR,
The ribbon measures 1 1/2in and my hat was made to 22 1/16in just shy of 22 1/8. This is the first hat I own that I didn't need to try to shrink or use foam to make fit.

It's amazing how different viewing angles and changes in brim shape and crown bash can alter how high the crown looks. I was shocked by the AB I just sold, which looked like a really high crown, but was the same as my Keppler, which looks much lower. At any rate, JP seems to have it down pretty good. Eagerly awaiting mine. :)

Kobol - After thinking about what I posted to Tone and his hat comparison, I realized I never complimented your hat. It looks very nice and I think the bash is looking good already. I rather like the green liners Jimmy puts in these, as it's unique. What brim dimensions did you request, or did I miss that somewhere?

Kobol, that is a sweet lookin' lid. I am so glad to see that JP has carved out his own little corner of the Indy fedora world. It makes me proud to see so many wonderful offerings, not just from great hat makers, but from FANS!!

Thanks much. That's exactly what I would have ordered! I love the brim dimensions with that height, as it looks very accurate to me. Nice looking fedora!

That is a GREAT looking hat! I was unfamiliar with JP Designs, very glad you stepped up for one and shared it with us. Be interested for you to post later on after you have lived with it for a while.

Tone;
You have much more experience than I in this photo comparison bussiness, but I believe the crown is definately higher in the Indy comparison shot. You appear to be closer than the image next to you. MHO
I will add though, your hat looks good and that's the crown height I ordered as well.
