Fedora's jacket in LC

Post by corellian1 »

Here's a bizarre question: has anybody done any research on the jacket worn by Fedora in the prologue of Last Crusade? I've been searching the web for photos of it, with no luck and my crappy VCR doesn't give me a clear enough freeze frame to see much detail. Anyone know if it was a Wested? I seem to recall that it had buttons instead of a zipper, which would be appropriate for 1912, but beyond that...

I only have 3 photos of Fedora wearing a jacket. I can do more screen grabs, but my DVD is on the fritz.

Indiana James,

That's part of what I was going for in a thread I started in early September,

http://www.indygear.com/community/forum ... .php?t=979

You may want to read that one to. Sergei, you knew all along and didn't tell me? I forgive you!

Sergei, thanks for the photos, and thanks to Indiana Joe as well for pointing me at that other thread. I had no idea that Fedora was originally going to be Abner Ravenwood. I wish they'd left that angle - would've made for some interesting character shadings for Indy and Marion both.

corellian1,

I totally agree. I think it would've made for a great angle. But maybe they thought it would be too much for a "B" serial as Spielberg intended the trilogy to be.

I just sent an e-mail to Peter to ask about this jacket.
Maybe he'll come to this forum and tell about it himself? Who knows.
I'll keep you posted if I know something more.

Kind regards
