FS Scoop...

Post by junior »

I was speaking with one of the sales staff about one of their jackets and he mentioned the hide that they are working on for both the Raider jacket and the Expedition. This hide will distress much faster than other hides they have available. What was news to me is that it is not a goatskin that they are woking with, but rather cowhide.

I do not know much about cowhide. Do you?

Junior,
I think you may need to rephrase the question, are you asking about all aspects of cowhide, or how easy it is to distress cowhide? Or about the FS jacket itself?

Cheers! :?

My bad.

No, I haven't had any experience with cowhide and was wondering about its pros and cons versus other leathers.

Thanks

Cowhide kind of gets a bad rap around here. If it's tanned right and cut thin enough, it makes a real nice jacket. Wested's lambtouch is cowhide and it's super. FS makes awesome products. FS, you have to realize had dedicated itself to finding some of the nicest hides. In their eyes (and the "normal" client's) that meant a hide whose color wasn't going to flake off in a couple of years. Color that fades is really only desirable to Indy fans. FS has continued to prove that they will pick up the gauntlet once it's been thrown. Cheers
