I ordered a dark brown goatskin, TOD style, on Sept. 29, using ordering tips I found on this site. I got the order confirmation and settled down to do the "Wested Wait." It took an extra month, Gemma emailed me that they were backed up. No big deal, it was more like summer here in LA. Besides, two months seems no big deal for a custom made jacket.
I got the shipment notification last Monday and watched it make its way across the big pond to the US. I figured it would take a little longer because of the holiday, but it showed up today! Woo-hoo! Even better, it was dropped off at my door, no import charge. I was expecting to pay about $30 for import fees. Cool.
The package was smaller that I expected. It was wrapped in three layers. The outside shipping bag, a Wested bag, a smaller plastic bag and some tissue paper. Very well protected.
The jacket is awesome. Everything I expected it to be. Love the leather, can't believe the lambskin is even softer. Must be like butter! Must refuse ordering a second jacket... mmmm...lambskin!
Ordered a big bottle of Pecard's. Gotta take care of my new baby. Arrival timing couldn't have been better, winter arrived today in LA, at least winter for us! Been wearing it all day with a big, goofy grin on my face. Of course, I had to watch Raiders tonight. Now I just have to avoid getting all of the other parts, the shoes, the hat, the whip......
