AB Deluxe After 6 Months - New pics
I got my AB Deluxe about 6 months ago.

I have worn it just about every day since then, and have played with the bash a little. I even got up the courage to sit on it several times . It's time to post some updated pics of it, but first a little about the hat. When I ordered the hat, I ordered a SOC bash with a one inch turn. I don't remember exactly what the height of the front crease was, but I think it was 4 7/8 inches. Since then I have changed the bash 2 or 3 times. Currently, I have it bash down to 4 1/4 inches in the front, and 3 1/4 inches in the back. A little taper occured with the deeper bash, (which I expected thanks to what I have learned here), but the pictures seem to overexagerate the taper, (distortion due to me trying to hold the camera and take my own picture). I have also turned the hat about another 1/4 inch. My eye isn't sharp enough to tell if it is a very screen accurate bash or not. I just push and prod until it is in a shape that I like.
This last picture is of the lining, just to show that this hat has been worn. The red has run a llittle, and there is even some red Alabama clay dust in there.
I love this hat, thanks Marc.

I wouldn't be perfectly honest, if I'd say that I like it with that deep creases (or rather the taper that they cause), but that's not the point here and it's not what makes me happy about your post.Currently, I have it bash down to 4 1/4 inches in the front, and 3 1/4 inches in the back. is what makes me a happy camper! That you wear the hat with pleasure Rick, that's what counts to me.I love this hat, thanks Marc.
Thanks for sharing,
Marc

I was going to say, Marc, Blooze...who CARES about screen accurate....It sure looks 'Blooze' accurate to me, and THAT'S what really matters to this writer!
That's what separates the comments 'You're trying to look like Indiana Jones, aren't you?' from 'Hey, man, that's a nice looking hat!'
HIGH regards! Michaelson

The fact that I am holding the camera at arms length and taking the pictures really distorts them. Yes, there is some taper, but looking at it in person, it is not as bad as the picture. The distortion also makes the brim look a lot wider than it really is. As far as the red dye goes, such is life. This hat is worn daily, sometimes 10 or 11 hours a day. It spent a lot of time in 90+F temperatures, and has been wet several times from the rain. I can live with it. It is better than the first time I worked up a sweat in my first Indy style hat, a Stetson, and ended up with a big brown steak running down my face. And before it goes any further, the brown streak was dye.
Oh yeah, beautiful hat G-Mann. Some day we'll have to hook up and you can show me how you get your hats to look as good as they do.

OK, my ADHD has kicked in again, and I sarted fiddlin' with my hat, (actually, I think it was the pic of G-Mann's hat that triggered it ). Well, anyway I stuck my hands in my hat and spread them apart until the sides were parallel, and then I made my new pinch. The front is up to about 4 3/4 " now. I also turned it about another 1/4".
These are some of my famous "I took these pictures in the bathroom mirror" pictures. They aren't the best, but I think they don't have as much distortion in them. Where's Ansel Adams when you need him?

Before going further, I would like to thank everyone here for all of the compliments, and also for the constructive criticism. I didn't know beans about 'good' Indy hats until I started lurking here a 4 or 5 years ago. Since then it has been a never ending learning experience. I'd like to thank Marc for this beautiful hat. It is a work of art, and no matter how bad I try to screw it up, it still looks good. Thanks buddy. If it weren't for this forum, I'd still be wearing my DP and thinking, "Yeah I'm cool. I've got Indy's hat on." Ack!! That's a scarey thought.
