Wested pants - what's with the sizes
I ordered the wested pants just now.
Had a little problem with the sizes though.
All my life I was wearing size 31 (Levi's that is) and in cases when I was getting a few extra pounds 32.
I measured my waist today and found it to be 68cm. (Right now I am wearing army pants size 31)
68cm translates to 33.85 inches so Gemma suggested that I get the 34.
I said let's split the difference, give me the 33.
She said, there's no 33. Only 32 and 34.
Now 32 is 81.2 cm (abt 5 cm less than my waist size).
So we agreed that I get the 34 and if things go wrong then I can return it and ask for replacement.
As I am still wondering if I got the right size would appreciate your opinion guys. Especially those of you who have the 34 size.

It's virtually impossible to assess sizes anymore. These days, and I'm not kidding here, the sizes of clothes have been skewed because of the growing problem of obesity and the over-weight problem in (at least) this country. I would assume the same elsewhere.
The industry trend now is to tag clothes with a smaller size than the article of clothing actually IS. Example- What used to be a size 14 in womens, is now actually labled a 10 or 12. What was once a 10 or 12 is now labled an 8 or 9, and so on and so forth..
In an attempt to boost self confidence and stimulate purchasing the sizing of yesteryear has now just been left behind and they are putting whatever size makes the sales go higher. Lame!
I see it in the varying size of clothes that I wear. Mine ranges from a 31 to 34 in waist sizes, and I'm actually a 32.
