FAQ or "primer" on leather jackets?

Post by spiridon »

Please pardon a newb question, but is there a place here with general info on the different aspects of leather Indy jackets?(like the one in the Fedora room) Perhaps discussing the pros & cons of horsehide vs. lambskin vs. goatskin....etc.
I've got several leather jackets (though not Indy accurate) that I really like, but have no idea as to what sort of leather they are made of. I'm also looking at purchasing another jacket......or two (Indy accurate) and would like to know what to look for and what to steer clear of.
If there is not such a thread, perhaps someone could start one? Thanks for any help guys! :D

I don't think this page has been updated in a while, but have you seen it?

No prob!

Oh, and while we're on the subject...Sergei, one of the elders here, taught me a neat trick. To search ALL of IndyGear - the main pages AS WELL AS the forum pages, AND possibly employ a more powerful search engine (no slight meant to the COW engine), go to google and enter your search terms w/ one extra word: IndyGear.

Of course, that won't hit the members-only pages, but for topics like the jacket leathers this should all be out in the open anyway, not in the members-only sections.

(Thanks again, Sergei!)

Google hasn't indexed any of the COW pages.

Hmm. used to get more than that. Was it a different engine, or was that perhaps before it was renamed /cow/...?

Weird, it seems that the Googlebot is banned from COW.

Next week on Battlebots...Googlebot vs. Cowbot!

I wonder if that was because some of the bots were driving up the CPU, which might have contributed to those 'bluebox' error messages and site unavailability? If so, I could see banning it.
