take 2
well Steve got the grey one back and had the right colour out in under 2 weeks, reimbursed my postage (11 out of 10 for service)

open crown,wide brim
out of the box it looks like a big brown tank
1st impression is thick and tuff
dropped a fore and aft crease and pinched up the front
looking good and the back tilt is from anouther planet(as in cool)
i kept dropping the crease and no taper!!!
never before has a hat in my hands or on my head drop down as far

felt feels like a classy Akubra but the overall impression is Optimo apearance
im thinking that this is as close as it gets

Sam, the interesting thing about these AB's are the way they take the individual's personality simply from daily wear. The Akubra's are good, but these AB's are spooky. They become 'old friends' quickly.

Glad you finally got yours!

but these AB's are spooky
That's cause' I get my local juju woman to put a spell on these hats. But a good spell. She guarantees them to all be lucky hats. I don't extend that guarantee. Fedora

You left out the [/img] tag at the end. As always, that's a great lookin' AB... makes me can't wait till I get mine (hint hint, Steve?). You might wanna deepen the center dent to make the camel humps more prominent, though.

Sam, that is an ok job, I guess on the creasing, but it don't look right to me. The close up photo accounts for part of it, but I know how that hat is capable of looking, and you are not there yet. IMHO. Just tell me to mind my own business. I use the knife edge of my hand to put in the front creases, angling it back with a very defined indentation at the place where my hand is formng the creases. A 45 degree angle is good, but many times I make mine a bit straighter. This squares up the crown. Looks like you could drop the front pinch down another little bit too. But heck, it's your hat. You wanted it open crown for a reason, so I should not be critiquing your work. I just can't help myself. Regards, Fedora

Month or two yet?
My plan is to make all of these in the next 3 weeks. Good lord willing, and Idon't have to remake some that I am not satisfied with. The total number of days it takes me to make a hat now is 3 days instead of one day. Thanks Marc. But, once I got on the new system I can still get one and sometimes two made in one day. It just depends upon how long I want to make the day. So some days one, and some days two. Hopefully the list will give folks an idea of when to expect their hat from me and it will save me some pc time as well, responding to inquiries. I am a one finger typer. Fedora
