Hmmm. I think I need to specify all boxes are trampled on!!! I could not have done better with the crease job you put in. Great job!! It actually looks to have seen some action, while on your head. That hat should shed water like a duck's back too. Special stuff done to that hat.

On the UPS shipping, I have been asked by other customers from Canada to use it. It is so much faster(or so they tell me). It is the only time that I use UPS. USPS can take literally weeks to arrive. I have no clue as to why. Fedora

thanks for the kind words steve. you have given me peace of mind now whenever the weather is miserable. i don't have to wear that plastic rain protector over the HJ anymore. no more worrying about ruining a hat in the rain...i felt like a walking condom before :)

From the Finger Lakes summit. I'll see if I can round up a decent shot of it that shows off its exquisiteness best.

From a Halloween party the other night... first time I've put all my IndyGear together!

AB Beaver, Wested goat in dark brown, MBA shirt, pants, bag and strap, Todd's belt and holster, 10' David Morgan, and Indy Magnoli's Idol. Oh, and the Alden's are down there, holding it all together...

Sam, yours is winging its way(the right color this time) as we speak. Now, if you decide to get another one, or a gray one, we need to do some horse trading. I love those Platypus brand wool boot socks you sent me a couple of years ago. I have bought several different brands of boot sock from ebay but none compare with what you sent me. That would be alot of socks to swap out, dollar value per dollar value, but I wouldn't have to buy any more until I check out. Fedora

Sam, I've 'known' you for many years now, and I'm very sorry to tell you that the arrival of your new AB will do NOTHING to help correct this particular problem. It will help curb the twitches, but it won't 'cure'. :(

HIGH regards, old friend.

I could use a good thing right about now. And Lord knows, I've waited. (Almost 26 weeks) This is getting painful! ](*,) I've had perfect weather to break in an AB with my Wested for weeks now, but the hat continues to be elusive. When I get it I probably won't be able to sleep until I've worn it someplace... and for fear that it's just a dream. =P~

I got a Fed Delux first - I love it! Now I can afford to wait a bit for the next. When the JP arrives, I'll dare taking a bit off the brim of the Delux to tweak it a bit. The AB is going to be my dress/no weather hat (Even though I know it could stand it). It's the beaver felt too!

Here's the first picture of my AB and me 8)
It's prebashed "Raven Bar Style" directly from Steve.
But I may give it sometime a more detailed rebash.
However it's a wonderful hat! Thank you Steve!

My new AB dlx - generic Raiders' bash without turn.

Image

Image

The hat is a true work of art, it is everything I expected from an AB dlx - and more!

I originally got the hat in october last year, but due to me taking my measurements wrong it was too big for me. Being the stand-up guy he is Marc offered to fix that - and now the hat fits just perfectly.

Marc delivered the hat to me personally, he had a business appointment not far from where I live - It was really nice to finally get to meet him after the many e-mails and phonecalls.
Having spended the evening talking Indy and hats, drinking coffee, cracking whips, etc. I can only say that my impression of Marc from the e-mails and phonecalls was not wrong - he truly is a nice guy. I had a great time - which I hope to repeat soon.

Thank you for a great evening Marc - and thank you for making my perfect Indy fedora.

Regards.

Jakob

i'm referring to the "man in the hat" scene where indy disposes of that cutthroat baranca (sp?) at the beginning of raiders. its a different hat than the rest of the movie (this hat is only prevalent outside of the chachapoyan temple). though, i believe it makes an appearance when indy is dragging himself up from the bottomless pit but then the rest of the movie is the good ol' hero hat with the asymmetrical wings. its my opinion that this hat was ruined while jumping in the river but was then given to the life magazine guy on the clipper to wear.....just conspiracy theories on my part though....i'm willing to argue my case from under the plymouth!

this is the hat:

ok....scratch the bottomless pit theory. i just looked at the screengrab and it looks like the same hat in the rest of the temple interior scenes....it just appears to be turned back to where the hat should sit (ie the pinch is favouring the right side of the head now)....
