Akubra delivery time

Post by dr.quincyblack »

Hello Chaps.
I've finally bit the bullet and ordered a Akubra Fed, now i'm getting a little worried that it wont arrive in time for Halloween.
I placed the order last saturday and the nice lady said that it would take 5-10 days. Just wondering how long it's taken for other people from the U.K. to receive theirs.
Ta very much

Hi there,

How is Doctor Who country?

I got mine within about 10 days, and that was over the xmas period last year. If they have stock (and I've not heard of them running out before) they do seem to send them out pretty sharpish.

You have cut it a little fine tho! :)

Regards,

Kt (in London).

To California fast .. I ordered mine on the 19th, last week, and they arrived the 23rd. Is Katoomba closer to San Francisco, or London? I think it's close.

I'm on the U.S. east coast and when I used regular shipping, I got my hat within 8 days. I'd bet you'll go about 9 to 10 days, but you should have it for the 31st. Express mail got it to me in 5 for my second one.

Every time that I've ordered one, it was less than a week.

By day 8, I was getting antsy, too. Some of this has to do with your local post, though. My local guys are...ok. They vary depending on which one delivers. But it should get to you within the allotted timeframe. If you ordered last saturday, I'd expect to have it Monday at the absolute latest.

Thanks for the info, it took 9 days. It arrived this morning, talk about cutting it fine! Now comes the fun part, the bash.

As for being in Dr Who/Torchwood country, it *****! You can't even go to the pub without some bloody cybermen walking past and ruining your evening out. Although i do like to play spot the bit of Cardiff when i watch it.

I ordered mine last Saturday (Oct 21) and received it yesterday (Oct 30). Not bad for getting a great hat from halfway across the world! I got the regular Federation and absolutely love it. Bashing it was very easy. Thanks again for all the advice and assistance on these forums!

Yep, they're pretty accurate in delivery times. In the span of two weeks, I ordered two different hats. first one took 8 days, second one took 4 (with express delivery).

The hat is, as you said, very easy to bash once you wet the felt some. I didn't even use steam -- just a spray bottle and letting the hat dry did the trick (and no worries about shrinkage either).

I got my two a couple of days ago. I wasn't counting the days, but think it was about 8 or 9. (I saved a good bit on shipping too, since I got two hats at once!)
