Now, everyone, this could just be nothing but light but I was looking at this picture.

and noticed something on the hat ribbon. I copied it into paint and enlarged it.

I'd love to say that its some sort of imperfection in the film. Maybe it is a scratch or a hair, but I'm not sure.

It's sweat. I get marks like that all the time on my ribbon.

Strider's right - it is sweat, respectively the precipitated salt of the sweat.
Happens very often - even with Indy's hat. Just have a look at the Cairo Bar scene!

You're all wrong. It's the staple used to keep the hat on his head during the fight scene. DUH! :wink:

thats the mark left from the 'indiana jones-hat pin'. they wanted to keep the scene authentic so they asked mr. ford to remove it from his dorfman pacifica :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah I removed my Indy pin from my DP and it left a mark too...so I guess I'm screen accurate now!! :D

To me, it just looks like a piece of hair stuck to the edge of his brim. However, I refuse to speculate as to how a curly hair would come to be stuck there. [-X

one of willie scott's hairs maybe? maybe thats why marion didn't kiss him and told him to come back the next day........

It's one of these three marks on the right side of the ribbon. I think they are stitches. If they are, they don't look typical to me. They're too big and plentyfull. Too high and uneven in height and spacing. Maybe they secure some stuffing inside the hat. I don't think they'd be there on a stock Poet. Image
