Now, everyone, this could just be nothing but light but I was looking at this picture.
and noticed something on the hat ribbon. I copied it into paint and enlarged it.

any thoughts?

I'd love to say that its some sort of imperfection in the film. Maybe it is a scratch or a hair, but I'm not sure.

It's sweat. I get marks like that all the time on my ribbon.

Strider's right - it is sweat, respectively the precipitated salt of the sweat.
Happens very often - even with Indy's hat. Just have a look at the Cairo Bar scene!

To me, it just looks like a piece of hair stuck to the edge of his brim. However, I refuse to speculate as to how a curly hair would come to be stuck there.

It's one of these three marks on the right side of the ribbon. I think they are stitches. If they are, they don't look typical to me. They're too big and plentyfull. Too high and uneven in height and spacing. Maybe they secure some stuffing inside the hat. I don't think they'd be there on a stock Poet.
