NH Contacts

Post by conceited_ape »

Hey all,

Noel Howard isn't responding to any of my emails these past few weeks. I was thinking about calling him instead and am wondering if anyone here has his contact number(s). I read somewhere that he may have relocated and therefore the number on the Indygear main site may no longer be valid. If anyone could 'VP' me some current digits that would be dandy. :)

Ape out.

Give him time, he responds to emails, just not quickly sometime. If you don't hear from in a day or two, just email him again.
Just gotta let him know your not trying to bug him
Good luck, whatcha goin after?

Where are ya'll finding his contact info? I only see M.B.A. Costumes, is that the info used to find Noel Howard? I'm confused on who he is in regards to MBA cause people refer to the two seperately sometimes. Also, MBA has a price list that show the shirt as $85 USD, Croft mentioned in another thread that the shirt was priced at $115 or something like that...so is that price list outdated or what?

As I understand it...

Noel worked for Bermans and Nathans at the time of production on Raiders of the Lost Ark. Andre Dometakis then supplied Bermans and Nathans with the shirts used for Raiders.

MBA was Noels own company after the end of Bermans and Nathans.

When MBA went out of business relatively recently, Noel has offered the shirts himself to the same spec as he did when operating as MBA.

The people who took over MBA (I cant remember if they changed the name or still operate under the name MBA) also decided to offer the shirts and pants, however as I believe it was at an extravagently high price which brought people to the conclusion it was designed to be prohibitive and discourage the practise of them manufacturing them.

Thanks for that Info Ken. I am still in the dark however about where his contact info is then, seperate from the MBA info that's on the main page. Well, I actually just used that info anyway and emailed NHoward (at) aol.com. Just not sure if that's gonna get to him or not.

Hey Doug C, not sure if that'll work or not. This is the email address I've used.

NHowardUK@aol.com

Below is a price list sent to me by Noel on May 23rd 2006
All prices should be confirmed w/Mr. Howard as thing always tend to go up when you least expect it.

Hope this is helpful.

I have Noel's full price list. I thought I'd posted it, but maybe did so in a self pruning section, or maybe it was during all the latest round of bruhaha and got over looked.

It's at work so I'll post it next week.

And the contact info for Noel as posted by Croft is correct. It just may take a while as he's now doing this in his spare time.

I was in contact with him about a month ago, about ordering a shirt and a pair of pants and a bag strap. He didn't have a RotLA shirt in my size, and I told him I would just wait until he had all of it.

He contacted me yesterday and said he had some RotLA shirts in X-Large, so I placed my order. I was a little surprised when I saw how these items were listed on his invoice. I think Noel would be fun to have around when we have these in depth discussions about the color of items in the films such as the gray/brown fedora.

My shirt and pants were listed as:

1. Pink/fawn trousers
2. Green/beige shirt

 :-k #-o

Yes, they are. Pink, fawn trousers is not exactly a manly sounding description. But, if Indy could wear 'em, I can wear 'em.

Let's see....Noel is in England....Canyon is in England..... :-k

Anyone think that might have something to do with the quick turn around? :-

JUST kidding..... :D I've heard the same for everyone who deals with him. Once the order is in the hopper, so to speak, it's out the door if the item is on the shelf.

Noel doesn't muck about. That's why I love dealing with him...
...and obviously his gear is second to none if you want the real thing.
Definitely one of the nicest vendors we have.

Being custom made wouldn't really affect how long it took the post to deliver them. They were sent Wed., not necessarily ordered then.

I was mostly referring to the fact that custom NH pants cost almost 300 bucks.

I remember my first purchase from him, years ago, was a bag strap. I ordered it at 3 pm in the afternoon. It arrived in the morning post the enxt day. I was flabbergasted.

I also remmber ordering a pair of pants/trousers from him. Same speed of delivery but for some unknown reason the mailman, not being able to fit the package through the door, took it upon himself to open it and manually stuff 2 pairs of pants through my letter box slot. Fortunatly nothing was damaged but I was terrified it could have been. Nothing to do with Noel of course.

erri, those pics are sick. Very nice. You need to snap a full profile when you get the pants finished.

Can I ask you a few questions?

1. Are you a true 32" waist? What size pants do you usually wear?

2. Also, how's the taper on the pants. Is it cut more or less straight, or tapered like I've heard wested's are?

3. Did you get a 3 or 4 inch upturn hem?

4. Did you get a military hem (1 inch higher in front)

Thanks

I surely will

1. I'm 33" but I usually wear trousers lower than they should... so yes I'm 32".

2. I haven't noticed the taper yet, right know I would say they look more straght than the Westeds but I'll confirm you that when I'll try them again

3. Sorry but I don't know what's an upturn :?:

4. I don't know this either  ... but I suppose the answer is yes. the front is pretty high compared to anyother pair of trousers that I have (wested included)

PS we can continue this information sharing here viewtopic.php?p=266007#266007 so no one can accuse me of going off topic all the time

Thanks, VP! It's good to be back, although I do lurk from time to time. I've been out of the loop a while trying to finish some academic work. That, and it's taken this long for my bank account to recover from my last gear binge!
