Does anybody know what exactly Peter Botwright does to his pre-distressed jackets to make them look so well aged? Does he do it to other hides or only the cowhide? Hope you can chime in on this one Mr. Botwright and give us a distressing template.
As I understand it, Peter doesn't do anythign to the hides. He has simply sourced pre-distressed hide in the same way he has sourced authentic lamb, authentic goat, etc.
So whatever the process that is done to the hide would be completed by the time Peter and Wested receive the hide.
Really, because I could swear I remember hearing that he stuffed the jacket in a pillow case, and gave it a round in a washing machine full of pebbles. :junior: -IJ
On the indygear main site,Abner mentions that the reason his predistressed jacket is so light in colour in the picture is because it was left too long in the distressing machine, also just below that, _ says that he had ordered a predistressed jacket but Peter forgot to put it through the dryer so he got his without distressing..I'm guessing from this that Peter distresses the hides in shop.
