I live in Northern Kentucky across the Ohio Ocean from Cincinnati. I'd enjoy getting together :D

Hello Ed,
I see you are going after the Peter Jacks set on eBay.
Good luck. Peter does superb work. I have 6-7 of his whips, and they are among my favorites. He has a very high work values and aestetic integrity, and he takes pride in turning-out a product that is as good as he is capable of rendering it.
Good Luck.

Unfortunately I don’t know of any Whip Enthusiast or Indy groups that meet in that general area. There are whip crackers in south central and southwestern Ohio and in northern Kentucky though. Gery Deer runs the School of whip artistry near Dayton OH, he is an accomplished whip performer and also runs the Wild West Arts Clubs Ohio regional convention each year in July. He offers lessons for a nominal fee both at his studio and around the area. See his site www.gldenterprises.net for more information if your intrested in that. Memeber Dan Trout/TheFish is closer to that area too, hopefully he can add in and let you know more detial on what the local whip cracking scene is like.

Also As I mentioned in the recent NJ/Philly whip cracking post. check with the yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WhipEnthusiasts/ to see if anyone in your area is doing meets or that can help you out. The main Whip Enthusiast homepage is still down, www.whipenthusiasts.org but it should be back up soon. It also lists its group chapters around the world.
