BOIC glass frames- what size were used in Raiders?

Post by belloq »

What size frames would Ford would have worn in Raiders? (there are only 4 sizes listed at framesdirect.com)

Also, Indygear lists Indy's frames as 165 but framesdirect only lists 145 - are these available in 165 any longer, or is that a special order?

Thanks.

Anyone come up with an answer or a guesstimation? Is anyone here Harrison Ford's general size and a 7 1/4 hat size, and ordered the BOIC frames? Does anyone want to take a guess at what size Ford would have worn?

Really don't know the which diameters were used for the film. But if you are ordering for yourself, you need to order what is right for your face.

As far as the 165 vs 145 size, you order these frames in the cables (CBL). Thus it becomes moot.

When I ordered mine, I was told that you had to order slightly bigger frame than normal because of the construction of the frame.

As it turns out, the earpiece connect almost directly to the edge of the frame. Therefore, the frames have to be wide enough to clear your temple so the ear pieces don't make a "V" when you put the glasses on.

I can't speak for the BOIC's, but the Berkshire Chase Panto's I just ordered, I had the same question. I had the same problem and was concerned about the "temple pinch". I emailed Bershire chase here was there reply:

The 14 kt Beaufort is available in 43,45,47,49 and 51. The Cable temple can be adjusted. Bring your frame to any eye care professional for an adjustment. The English Beaufort 2 is a less expensive copy of the 14 kt and is available in the same sizes except 43 eye (45 to 51). Log to www.berkshirechase.com for more details. Frames direct can supply any of our items.

The Frames Direct web site does not show the size 51 in the cables but, I was assured that they are available.

My replacement Panto's should be here by weeks end - "with any luck he'll have the frames already" - Sorry could not help sticking that in there. I've been waiting for these frames since October - I should have started a "Frames" diary. It certainly has become my Holy Grail!
