36 Plait Bullwhip
I figured I'd post some pictures of it, as it was talked about in another thread.
This is the first 36 plait I've ever made, and it is on it's way to Boggstandard.
Regards,
Paul Nolan

BEAUTIFUL job!!!
Regards! Michaelson
Thanks! the fingers were a bit sore after this one. It took me about 2 and a half weeks I think it was. I tried to work on it at least 4 hours a day, but I had other orders and what-not to do as well. I think I guestimated somewhere around 60 hours on it. I learned a lot from it.
Regards,
Paul Nolan

Wow, Paul! That IS really beautiful! Like those long-handle whips, especially with something other than the checkerboard pattern to look at ;-)
How many strands is the point on that?
Very VERY nice.
If I wasn't so hard on whips to be afraid of anything beyond 16 plait, I'd be scrounging up money for one like that in saddletan ;-)

Paul,
So that's what a whip with 60 hrs of construction on it looks like? Not sure if you or anyone else remembers a certain thread here where we discussed the time needed on building "a decent whip," but that looks fantastic! And Dan beat me to the question on the point...was wondering myself how many it came down to. Again, accolades!
Steve.

The whip is here!!!
Just to let you all know that I have just received Paul's beautiful creation. Even Paul's great pictures on this thread cannot do justice to this whip. It is amazing in all respects.
I find it hard to understand how a person can make something of this quality; this is an acknowledgement of my admiration for Paul's work, as well as my recognition of my total lack of artistic ability.
Anyway Paul, "YOU DONE GOOD."
