My first Wested w/pic

Post by Mike Bolton »

Got my first Wested in the mail. I arrived right after I went on leave, so I had to wait till I got back to try it on.

Got a goatskin Raiders with the smaller pockets and combo lining. I'm thinking for my next one I might go with all cotton. Has anyone else tried this?

Only bad thing about the jacket is I ordered the sleeves slightly too short.

I'm going to see if Wested can let them out a bit, but obviously that's harder than shortening too much length.

Are those the famous smaller pockets? They look... like mine from this picture. Do you think you can post more pics ? I would be very interested in seeing these new small pockets.

I didn't know we had a user from Kosovo, my welcome Mike.

About the satin cotton combo... I think it's the best and it keeps screen accuracy since you never see inside the sleeves (neither during the film)! So who cares :P

Great looking jacket Mike! :D My Wested has an all cotton lining. Personally I really like it. I find it more comfortable when things start getting warm.

If you get a change I would liek to see a few pics of the smaller pockets as well. :)

Good call on the pockets. If you'd have gotten larger pockets you can see it would not have lined up properly with where you pull up your pants to. Could you also include the pocket size too, please as well as the size of the jacket? Looks great.

The jacket looks great, Mike. I don't think the sleeves are too short at all. Yeah, I suppose Wested could have made them a half an inch longer, but certainly no more than that. Actually, they look like they're hitting right about where they should. I'd leave well enough alone and just enjoy it!

Hey, is that a Texas flag flying from the headboard in the background?

Cheers!

The pockets measure 8"x6 3/8" I ordered the smaller pockets, but I honestly don't know if they are or not.

The more I look at the jacket, I think the sleeve issue is just that I'm used to jackets with knit or elastic sleeves. It actually fits well when my arms are at my sides. It is a size 40R.

Yes, I'm in Kosovo for the time being. The flag is an Iowa flag, but there are lot's of Texans around here.

Thanks!

by those measurements, and my perception of the pics, those are not the smaller pockets. The jacket looks great, though! Enjoy!

Oh, I remember when I got my jacket. What a wonderful day for you! I almost hate that summer is here as it is too hot to wear it comfortably.

They need an inches or two more to be perfect. Unfortunately I know what I'm talking about

I'd have to agree. The old pattern (smaller) pockets are more rounded at the bottoms.

I'm going to let it age naturally. Also, I've ordered another jacket with an all cotton lining.

I've got an A-2 with all cotton, and I really like it.

Looks great! I've always been of the opinion that the Raiders jacket sleeves looked best a little short... (look at the "Snakes... why did it have to be snakes..." shot)
