Two-Handed Whipcracking Level 1 DVD

Post by BullWhipBorton »

Hello all, I recently received a copy of Simon Martins Two-Handed Whipcracking-Level 1- DVD and wanted to post a review for Club Obi-wan members. I know many of you are interested in the wider aspects of whip cracking beyond the Indiana Jones films and This DVD is a great example of that. The DVD covers a quick review of some basic throws using two whips at once and then quickly goes into some 26 different Australian multiple cracking routines ranging from the basics to the more challenging. Simon does a very nice job explaining and walking you though each crack and combination, covering various timing variations and plain changes. The camera angle is also pretty good in that it gives a full view of the whips in motion and includes some really stunning scenery shots of Tasmania. Simon also goes into how the sport cracking scoring system works in competition cracking and interviews former and current Australian whip cracking champions Chris Beck and Ben Hughs giving both an opportunity to show off a bit as to why they win championships. The materials covered go way beyond the whip cracking skills used in the Indiana Jones movies and while his DVD is mostly suited to those working stockwhips; one could still get a lot out it using long handled bullwhips and to a lesser extent the shorter handle American style bullwhips. If you've mastered the basics, have a good foundation of the fundamentals of whip cracking and want to move on some really good stuff, learn some new routines or if just want to see some fancy whip cracking I would recommend a copy of this DVD. It's available at http://www.whipmaker.com.au
