A pleat built into the lining? Could you please explain that further? I just can't grasp the imagery on that one.
Tone, its basically an action pleat built into the lining. I'm not sure exactly how one would look on an Indy jacket, but the ones on the Navy G-1's are basically a reverse of the action pleat.

As someone from somewhere perpetually colder, I advise against it. You need to plug in your cars (electric or no), eat more, wear more layers, and the fedoras don't cover your ears. Top all that off with the constant fending off of Polarbears with the trusty Pointy Stick tm and you've got yourself more stress then necessary.

_,

I'm looking forward to the pics on this one, particularily of the color and of this internal action pleat. Like Tone, I cannot picture it. I am very keen of a Horsehide. From what I know, the Horsehide is far more 'Period' accurate then the Lamb would be as it is a tough-as-nails cheap hide used on a lot of aviator jackets back in the day.

Cheers

Jerry, I think it fits. He certainly can't get it any bigger, it is already touching his ears. :-k #-o

Are you made some pictures to share yet? I'd love to see them since it is very likely that my next wested will be a horsehide, too

_,

Congratulations on the jacket!

I'm sure now you see what I mean about how difficult it is the articulate the properties of this leather; the drape, the color, the toughness. It is inherently contradictory and consumately suitable for the Indy Gear enthusiast. You almost want to say, "Trust us, just get it, it is PERFECT!"

Enjoy the jacket and may it give you years of service!

Would you be able to snap any quick pics of this jacket by chance? I've always wanted to see what the Horsehide looks like... :D

Kind regards,

Totally up to you my brother-in-horse. Break it out for a day just to ogle, you know you want to. If I were in your neck of the woods, I would invite you over for a few pints so I could ogle while we drink.

That way we stay, uhhh cool. (it hit 94F here the other day-yikes)

Hey, _. I came across this topic and see that we've never seen any photos of your LC horsehide Wested. Would you mind posting a few pics, maybe including one of the pleated lining?

Many thanks.

There's a post here somewhere where _ said that he really liked his horsehide jacket. But if I remember correctly he also said that the jacket fell apart on him. :|
