Wells Lamont 1130s at Wal-Mart
Just a heads up. I bought a pair of Wells Lamont 1130 gloves at Wal-Mart today. I don't know about the rest of you, but the Wal-Mart here is hit & miss, & thus far it has been miss with these gloves. This was the first time I've seen them here. They even had smalls for those with smaller hands. The only down side was that they only had them with the palm patch. The price was $8.33 plus tax. So if they have them here, chances are they'll be at some other Wal-Marts as well. Thought everyone would like to know. Regards.

They usually have their gloves in both the mens work glove section AND the garden shop....so don't forget to check both areas. For some odd reason they don't stock the two sections with the same items, so you might actually find the correct glove in one area, and not the other. I have before.

ITG, you'd have laughed yourself silly if you had seen my wife and me in Ft. Worth last year in the old Stockyards gift shop. They had a box full of culled long horn steer horns, and we had them literally spread out across the floor to pick out the best ones. We literally filled the floor of the aisle. date_eating_monkey and hubby needed some for knife handles and helmets they were making at the time, and these were, compared to supply shop prices, literally dirt cheap....so we were matching sets the best we could.
Yep, we were REALLY getting some odd looks from other shoppers, and chuckles from the owners....but they even helped by bringing out another box of horns for us to go through. We literally shut down that side of the shop for about 20 minutes.
Regards! Michaelson

LOL! I do that too, but I'm always looking for solid cards and bubbles.I do that too when I am buying action figures, but for me I'm looking for the one with the best paint job.
Blooze, I've been doing that for years and have never, ever come across one sinlge pair w/o the palm patch. Methinks you got very lucky!

I regularly check both these sections, but I actually found these gloves by accident in the men's clothing section near the jeans. I was shocked to see them there. I also checked through every pair & only found the ones with the palm patch, but they're more accurate than my current pair. They usually have their gloves in both the mens work glove section AND the garden shop
The Wal-Mart here is just plain weird . It's possible they've had these gloves hiding here all along. I have half a mind to move the whole lot of them to the "work gloves" section of the store. Maybe that's not such a bad idea......Regards

I just bought a pair of the Wells Lamont 1130's at Wal-mart. They have the leather palm patches and I've been debating whether I should remove them or not. They actually blend in pretty well with the rest of the glove and I plan on distressing the work gloves by actually working with them. I don't think they'll be very noticeable after they've gotten a bit grungy. Has anyone removed the palm patches and had any problems with them distressing (naturally)?

Good grief, you' re sure digging pretty deep to dredge up these 'chestnuts'.
Bear in mind, you're responding to 2 year old posts, so anything you are saying regarding availability, price and the like is pretty null and void.
The best thing to do is read these old posts, and then start a NEW post regarding your new gloves and what is currently available.

Your not going to be reprimanded, I think what Michaelson is getting at here is this post is fairly old so the information is useful, but prices and things like that are much different now. Your probably better off starting off a new post to get a better response from people.
BTW-I went to the Wells Lamont website and they have the 1130's, do you need to request no leather palm patches or do they just come that way with no palm patch?
Edit-I realized at the Wells Lamont website they only come in a dozen pairs. Anyone interested in some gloves if I end up getting an order from them??

I see thanks for the info Agent5, so how do you take the palm patches off, are they on there with some type of glue or stitched on there. I may just buy a pair online or try to find them at the local stores here. The website did not mention any palm patches so that is why I was confused a bit. Thanks for the info.
