another Adventurebilt Deluxe just arrived (other pics)
Hi guys I just received mine this morning
It's an amazing felt and... listen to this 3thobucks... it has back reverse taper even when it sits on a table.
This hat is a masterpiece... I'm now shaping it trying to get the right look and fighting with the brim but I'll try to post pictures as soon as possible.
Ow, of course today it's cloudy and raining... it's always like that when a new part of the gear arrives
Marc you're great and up to the challenge of the Adventurebilt Company this is a great hat, thanks again.

Hey Erri,
Congratulations Another Fantastic AB Deluxe. The color is excellent. I wear mine every day and have already ordered a second one.
I did not know you had ordered the Deluxe from Marc, he never mentioned it to me on any of our phone conversations. I am sure you will be happy with it for years to come.
Wear it well.
Best Wishes,
John

Wow, I would not have guessed they were the same hat. Look at the ribbon height ratio to front crown height in the third picture from the bottom. Looks about right at 1:3 ratio, but the next picture down looks quite a bit taller (from the front). I realize that you are seeing the actual height of the front pinch in the side view and you are seeing the tallest point of the hat (about 2" back) from the front view, but it is interesting nonetheless...

Erri, congratulations on a fine purchase. You will be very pleased. You are to be envied, my friend, I'm sure.
Did you get it open crowned to shape it yourself? Or, are you having to reshape it after the boucing around during shipment? If it was shaped by Marc, which scene did you ask to have it styled after?

I think this is the ultimate hat!J_Weaver wrote:That looks great! It looks like you've got a keeper there Erri!
Thank you Tony :DIndiana_Tone wrote:Erri, they're supposed to go on your head!
Why are you fussing around with these table shots?! PUT IT ON already!!
Oh, and that's a FINE LOOKING AB DELUXE, my friend!
I wanted to take some pictures of it on my head BUT it started raining hard and it was all dull and cloudy... not ideal for a picture outside
Ahah... nice try Lao Che.. ehm ShanghaiJackShanghaiJack wrote:Why don't you send it to me and I can inspect it in person?
soon soon hopefully tomorrow there will be some sunLuisiana Jones wrote:amazing hat erri! cant wait to see it on ya
We owe you a lot my dear Steve... without you those early days would have never passed. Marc is surely a great hatter and he was the best choice for your European join-venture I hope that's the right nameFedora wrote:Wow. How far we have come from those early days on Indy Fan!!! I did not make that hat, so I think it is fair to say.........well done, it looks really good. And that is indeed a reverse taper on the back, just like the sitting hat that we have seen pics of. Fedora
The back reverse taper really makes it look like that famous hat laying on a table!

I didn't understand a word... must be the dinner still to be digested
Thank you Bufflehead, I'm really proud of this baby. It's surly the best looking hat I have ever had in my hands (and on my head)Bufflehead Jones wrote:Erri, congratulations on a fine purchase. You will be very pleased. You are to be envied, my friend, I'm sure.

ABout the open crown, I might tell you but then I have to kill you
This is the only pic I've taken wearing it
A "classic" pose and even more classical is the bathroom setting

May I ask what the brim dimensions are? Measured from the sweat band to the end of the brim.
7.8 cm front
7.5 back
about 7 cm on the sides... if I took them properly
:post: for who's looking for more details... I'm long oval and I ordered regular oval. The felt is the most smooth ever seen. The smell of NEW is lovely! The ribbon is stiched... this was not needed Marc but it's ok, at least it won't go up when I squash it (like if I could ever squash it!!!! ).
The hat already come with a slight reverse taper on the sides and a more noticeable reverse taper on the back.
The brim is rather stiff but Marc told me all the hat would get softer with time and as a matter of fact the brim is already quite soft and shapable from this morning.
I got some raidesque brim swoops and angles since I put it on the first time... must be something turn-related. That last picture I posted was not an "illusion".... that's what the brim look like when I wear the hat... no magic

Well, you don't need any more congratiulations on that hat. It's obviously, that you are happy with it. Very happy!
It looks great ... but ... the Mail Office made a mistake, so if you please can send the hat to me. 8-[
You know what you have to do now, don't you?! Wear it, go out and have some adventures!

Wow. That is such a nice lid. DANG, thats great. It has me only more excieted about the arrival of my first AB from Steve.
By the way - I don't want to bother Steve with this as he is busy - but, does he notify his people that their hat is on the way? Just asking in case I am away for a few days, etc.
Anyone?

Well, this surprises me QUITE a bit to be honest... The front and back should be the exact same measurements, since I don't change the possition of the blade on the brim cutter during the cut... That is strange as "where the devil lives"! You sure???7.8 cm front
7.5 back
about 7 cm on the sides... if I took them properly
Now, if only I could get the pc to show the pics you made Errico...
Regards,
Marc
thank you tone and thank you all guys for the kind comments. I really love this baby. Unfortunately it's still cloudy today for more pics but I'll see what I can do
Isn't it funny? Since the hat arrived it started raining !!!!!

Don't be surprised... I'm not good in measuring brims... always get different results consider that on the back, the brim is curled so there you can find the missing 3 mmMarc wrote:Well, this surprises me QUITE a bit to be honest...
