That's what Peter's company was called before Wested... Leather Concessionaires were contracted by Bermans & Nathans to make the leather jackets for the movies. After the business moved to Little Wested House in Swanley, Peter changed the name.

That's a mighty interesting jacket, hanson! Could you tell us more about the specs?

Well, you know how it is with these old jackets... they tend to get a little cranky...

Ah. Thanks. I knew about Bermans and Nathans, but didn't realize Peter's company was ever called anything else. Nice jacket, you might want to get the lining stitched up though. :junior: -IJ

Most cool! Hanson, could you please take a close-up pic of the brand tag? Would be nice to see what the "Pre-Wested" tag looks like!

Theres something interesting about those action pleats they look to match the raiders pleats -

i feel and always have felt that mine have way to much material (that the pleat was too deep) - i commited the ultimate sin and sewed them shut i just couldn't deal with so much material when I looked at the films and there was hardly any.

Don't crucify me for personal taste - i will get to see peter to order a new jacket and ask for proper measurments based on the ultimate jacket agent 5 has posted.

Jacket actually feels better with closed pleats and side pockets...

Would it be possible to see those pleats more closely please? I want to test my theory that the new westeds have too deep of a pleat. And the screen used ones has a single sided pleat not two pieces of material.

Thanks.

Alabama Jones picked up one of these jackets last year and posted about it, but the photos are no longer valid. Maybe he could repost those pix, as it was one of the best Indy jackets I've seen.

So about what year was this made?

I see (I think) 1 piece under arm gussets, x-box stitching, long straps, and large sized, squared off (LC?) pockets.

I got this one before Operation Desert Storm. I remember being bummed-out because my CO wouldn't let me take it or my HJ or my DM or any personal firearms with me. The HJ has a 1/90 under the sweatband and it was the last thing I got before I left. So, I am pretty sure everything else came in the late 1980's. The jacket is supposed to be all 'Raiders',and the label says 'BRITISH LEATHER' around a vertically hanging Union Jack. The main lettering says 'Leather Concessionaires' followed by 'Individually Styled by British Craftsmen' in small print at the bottom and a size 44 tag underneath the main label. regards, hanson.

Wow, pretty neat. I see that the sidestraps of X-box stitching. Interesting considering new Westeds do not have them unless specified. I've always wondered why that is. . .
