Alternative to direct steam bashing (I hope)

Instead of direct steam turn your shower on all the way to hot and bash it in your bathroom. ANyone think it would work?

I've heard of singing in the shower... :-k

You can also use a spray bottle of cold water and bash it that way, without having to worry about any ill affects hot steam might have.

I think this might work, actually. The steam would be equally distributed, it seems.

I think part of the reason that steam works is because it moistens and heats the felt without saturating it. That warm/damp combination makes the felt pliable so it can be stretched or shaped easier. I doubt you can get enough steam from the shower to heat the hat, only dampen it. But I will bet that you can make the wallpaper fall off if you run it very hot for an extended period.

If you only need a little tweaking, a cold water mist from a spray bottle can work... The real trick is to dry it properly.

I agree. A proper drying is the key.
The best shaping I ever get from my Fed Deluxe is after a rainstorm. I shape it and let it dry. Done!
