Pecard drying time???

How long does it usually take pecards to dry?? I put a coat on my Keppler about 3 days ago and it's still a little sticky.

How much did you put on? If you put a lot on and the leather is not dry, it won't soak in fully. If it has not soaked in after 3 days, then the leather doesn't need any more dressing so just wipe off the excess

I didn't put that much on. I'm thinking that just wiping the excess off will do the trick! Thanks!!

Well, it's best just to take a glob of pecards and just rub it right in. Helps to have someone help the whip while you rub it in, if there's any excess then just rub it off with a paper towle or something. Personally I just let it sit alone on a bar stool or something for a day to let it air dry before I go out and crack it.

Tip: It's recommended by many whip makers that you put an over-kill amout of dressing on the fall of the whip, it tends to dry out faster than the rest of whip, this will also keep you from having the replace the fall too soon.

I would agree about putting LIBERAL amounts of Pecards on the fall. It takes the most abuse and since it is a single piece of leather, it wears out quicker when dry.

But, please, please, just apply a thin coat of Pecards on the thong. Applying a "glob" on the braided portion is a bit of overkill. Applying several thin coats is much better than using a single copius amount. And the heated hair dryer trick maybe good for jackets, but I wouldn't use it on my whips. "Less, is TRULY MORE"......
