Crown measuring

Just a quick question. Is the height of the crown measured from the bottom of the ribbon up or from the top of the ribbon up? Thanks for clearing this up.

Its measured from the bottom of the ribbon. Basically measure from the brim to the top of the crown.

It depends on what measurement you want; open crown or bashed. Around here when you here us talking about the Raiders hat having a 5 1/2" crown where talking open crown height.
