oooo, can't wait to get back there. I'm going to have to have a look at the WOTW jackets. Might have to get me one of those. Did you just ask Peter to pull out all the movie jackets or were they just hangin around like that?

Yes, it's their 'Doctor' lookalike prototype, they had very good reference material. The wrist straps give it away and the upward angled seam at the chest. This jacket is made out of Cowhide. It is very tough and heavy. He says it's too heavy, suggests goatskin instead.

I'd just fill my pockets with leather samples. Actually that would be great if anyone from the US goes over there they could bring back a load of samples and distribute them for Peter instead of them shipping them over seas and getting lost half the time.

Well, funny you should mention that because I saw a very similar coat at Aero Leathers here.
KT, so Peter thinks the cowhide makes it too heavy, huh? Aero is making theirs out of front quarter horsehide with a wool lining, and you can imagine how much that probably weighs. It looks like my decision is going to be a hard one.

Thanks for posting these new Wested photos, especially of the Doctor's jacket. I recently paid a deposit for a replica of this jacket and I hope that Wested is the leather company being contracted to make them.
I wish I were in the UK more often. A few years ago, I was in London on business and only got one day for sightseeing. I visited the Swaine Adeney Brigg store where I was able to get the ribbon replaced on my '97 Poet that day.
I really wanted to visit Wested to have Peter measure me for a jacket.

Kt, not really. Ive been able to find some info by searching Google and I've seen a few on ebay, but thats it.
Baggers, yup, I've seen Aero's also. I think they call it the "mariner." Its a good looking coat, but a bit out of my price range.

Just to keep this Indy related, look at the 4th the picture with the leather draped over the beam. Behind it on the wall and next to the grey work coat are the heavy cardboard templates the Indy jackets are cut to. Neat Huh?

Hi HJ, Yes the 9th Doctor. I didn't want to say, the beeb are quite protective about stuff, even if they don't own the design they do own the the character and have lot's of lawyers. But what's good is they have already said as long as anyone doesn't sell it as "The Official Doctor Who Jacket" then they are cool with it.

I have seen enough pics to tell you that the "doctor" coat is basically a reproduction of the U-Boat coat.
Thats pretty neat about how they cut the Indy jackets.

Speaking of Indy-related...is that his DP on the end of the rack in the 5th picture?
Just looking at those pics, i'd get the wotw, mission impossible 1 blazer, the doctor's jacket, and another indy jacket that fit a bit tighter and snug than my jacket.
so how much would that cost me? =D Though if i had to choose just one...well i'm not sure what i would choose. Whenever I go to london (never been but will) i'll definetely get at least one jacket from them (saves HEAPS on taxes and postage - to ship one to australia costs pretty much the same amount for taxes and postage than the actual jacket).
Maybe you just won a second one. Keep up this streak, and soon you'll have enough patches...to make a bib. (For drooling over Westeds, of course, I've seen you eat in public and you aren't that bad. )
