Akubra Fed Ribbon Question

Post by michaelb »

I just picked up an Akubra Federation and really am impressed with it. I was just curious about one thing... The ribbon, or the bow I should say, facing the back, is just a single bow and does not have the double "overlapping bows" in this section, just the single on both sides, if you know what I mean. Is this normal for this particular hat? I thought that most of the pictures I have seen have the double back bow thing going on. Also, does it matter all that much? I just found it kinda odd. Nice looking hat though.

Thanks!

Here's my Fed regular, just got it yesterday. It has the double bow.

Was yours straight from Hats Direct, or could a previous owner have put a new ribbon on it?

I got it on ebay, however, it looks like it's never been touched! It looks brand new!? Wait a sec. I just pulled it out of the box and double checked. There is a slight, faint line about a 1/2 centimeter or so above the ribbon. Looks like it must have been changed. Dang.

Anyone around here redo ribbons? I thought I read that a few people might.

Thanks,
