Wested Visit

Post by Roadrunner »

Hi guy's. After reading your posts on what spec to have a Raiders Jacket,
I put together a list of what I wanted on my jacket :

Raiders,
Authentic Brown in Goat,
X- box stitching,
Rectangular buckels,
Rounded corner on storm flap,
Elastic in the pleats,
Small facing on inside pocket,
All cotton lining.

I wanted to get the correct measurements, so decided to visit Wested and
get measured for my jacket the next time i was in london.
On the 23/3 i got the train from Victoria Station and travelled to Swanley.
Got a cab to Wested. All the cab drivers do know where it is.
When i got there and went inside, a young man(I think his name was Richard)
showed me a selection of Raiders jackets, Lamb, Cow and Goat.
Then we went though my list and talked about my options. I must say that i was made
very welcome and was not rushed. He even pointed out options i hadn't put down ie,
80's fit, underarm gussets.Even if i would like a Brass zipper or a nickel one.
I did enquire about agent 5 suggestion about making the pleats narrower and
was informed that it would mean altering the pattern,so counldn't be done.
In the end i stuck to my original list , and was told my jacket should take about
2 wks to make.
I would like to thank you all for your advice. It ment i had a better idea of what to ask for.
Thanks again.

:D [/b]

Can't make the pleats narrower? What?

How can that be? I have a jacket with the pleats at that size. This just doesn't make sense.

Agreed. That doesn't make a bit of sense.

You might want to drop Peter a line to see if that is, indeed, the case now, since Peter is back in the shop.

Pleats

Post by Roadrunner »

It was Peter i spoke to. He said " the jacket is a fixed price and it would cost abit , because the pattern would have to be altered". So my jacket
will have 2" pleats.
