Pants

Post by Hydronaut »

Just curious what your guys opinon on these pants are.

http://community.webshots.com/album/548047477YGytym

I know the color is wrong and ther is only one pocket on the back (and the button doesnt go all the way through the flap)... But they were only 24.00 Canadian at the surplus store.

They are 80% wool and actually very nice pants.

I am going to try some rit colour remover and re-dye one pair. What colour should I be using?

Thanks...

Close-enuffs are great! I wear 'em to work and ruff them up. Nice find on the button fly too. Wool pants have a look and drape that is tough to get with plain cotton. Congrats :)

I agree that the color actually does look quite close, a very good find. If you find more of that material maybe you could sew on a make shift second flap...

MAN! Too bad there's only one rear pocket! Other than that, those are freakin' perfect Indy pants! Good show, friend!

Close enough pants.

I think the pants are GREAT! I wouldn't worry about the other pocket. I personally do not look at other Indy's butts checking for the correct amount & style of pockets.

I have to agree with the crowd on this one... great pants, don't touch a thing! If they have more, I'd snap them up!

As a good old Canucklehead myself its good to know where these things are.
We're too well aware that finding anything in Canada is soooo hard!

Thanks for all the replies. Went back and picked up another one size larger for a more baggier look. The guy there must think I am crazy... I will attemp to make another pocket cover with the materiel left from hemming with my 1918 treadle sewing machine!

For the other Canuck, I live downtown Toronto near the University (St George and Bloor). Born in Burlington and went to university in Hamilton (did a Poli Sci degree) then went to College and somehow ended up becoming a computer programmer for a bank? Go figure...

Posted some pics of my Wested which is a bit beat up on the pockets and seams. But it was from wearing it. I see a lot of posts on artifically distressing. My advice is wear it, shoev it in your backpack, and lug it around on all your adventures.

Wanna laugh... See that picture of me wearing that G1 flight jacket? I lost count how many places I have put it in a cheap frame and slapped it on a wall somwhere in a restaurant or bar :) It is usually gone the next time though... I will have to dress up in my Indy gear once I get my Fedora and do it again.

Anyways, you all seem like a friendly bunch and I am glad I stumbled across this place.
