My 2 New Winrich Whips Have Arrived!

Post by rebelgtp »

WOOHOO!!!!!!! My whips are finaly here! At long last I have received my whips and I couldn't be happier with them!

Adam did a beautiful job on the whips. The first is a standard 10 foot 8 plait cowhide indy. The second whip is one I asked Adam to make special and that is the steel core whip that has been discussed here ( viewtopic.php?t=16343 ). Its 12 feet long again 8 plait and made from cowhide. The idea for this whip came from a previous thread here on COW that discussed using a whip like Indy would. These two are truely night and day. I'm going to have to go try these babies out today.

Again thank you Adam.

thanks dan i'm really enoying these whips. its really weird going between the two. i'm amazed that the cable whip cracks as well as it does. in fact i got one off that was just about perfect and it sounded like a cannon going off  . the cable one is quite a bit slower however it is a longer heavier whip, the standard is actually VERY fast and light.

So the cable whip actually is able to crack? That's cool. I would have thought something like that wouldn't work because of the cable on the inside. I wonder if that is how they did it in the films or maybe those didn't even function as well as Adam's.

He may have started a whole new line of whips to purchase.

I can imagine though getting hit with that would be worse than a normal one.:whip:

Yeah....

I just lightly hit myself the other day with my new whip in the back and although it didn't hurt I got the the "feeling" of someone punching me in the back.

I can't imagine getting hit with any of them at full force. It would knock the wind right out of you.

yea well thats why indy used a whip, its a pretty good weapon/tool. It would be cool to have a cable whip if u really were like indy in life.

Does the cable whip flex as nicely as your other, and does it wraps around things good? I know u wrapped it on something, maybe u didnt try to swing, but i know u wanted to see if it held somewhat.

yep the cable whip does crack but it does take a bit more effort then usual. it is quite a bit stiffer then the normal whip so not quite as flexable but i do have to say that it is more flexable then i thought it was going to be. heck even the fall is about twice as thick as the normal one.

and yes i have wrapped it a couple of times. again its a bit stiffer (the cable runs to the very tip) so it takes a good hard swing to get a tight wrap. one of the wraps i got was actually so good and so tight i couldn't flick it off like the other times  . and no i havn't tried swinging from it

While it is always good to wear protective gear when cracking a whip, I would make sure to always have on protective gear, especially eye protection, when attempting to crack that cable whip. It would only take one time to lose your eyesight, not to mention the possibility of some other painful injuries. The risk is not worth it. Just be careful.

yeah bufflehead i've been making sure i've been wearing jeans and either one of my leather jackets or my carhartt gives me good protection. as for my eyes i normaly wear some sun glasses that are meant for motorcycle riding with high impact protective lenses.

actually tested how good the carhartt protected against the whip on purpose but then not full force and i barely felt it at all.
