hat

play with the rest of the hat and it will soften up aswell. I don't think you are going to make a whole there that fast but, if it's the only place you handle your hat one day it will.

jude, i have a Fed Deluxe and i didnt use any water or steam. From what i here you really dont need it, but if it worked then go ahead. If you want the right curve to the brim, youll need to turn the hat so that the bow is about an inch or so infront of your ear and not directly linned up still. It will feel weird at first because the hats no longer sitting on your head perfectly straight, and your head might feel like it wants to spin to the left, but this will go away soon enough with wearing it a bit. But in turning your hat like this, youll naturally distort the brim and it will curve properlly, or at least it did for me and has for others ive heard. The softness is bound to happen, mine is slightly softer now, but i didnt use steam, so im not sure how soft yours is. ITs going to soften as it is from wear anyways. Just play with your hat like Jman said, it will get better.

My Federation has had the tar beat out of it and it has held up fine. Don't worry about it getting a hole in it.
