Pour Les Aventuriers de l'Arche Perdue, la base des chapeaux était fournie par la société brésilienne [Cury]. Pour les films suivants, ainsi que pour l'actuelle production, le nouveau fournisseur est la société italienne [Borsalino].
From the little french i can read I underestood that they have the original brazilian manifacturer which was unknown as far as i know.
Old OLD news, erri. Fedora has already sourced and used this company over a year ago before moving onto a better source, as Cury's felt ended up being a shadow of what they USED to be.
That information is well over 10 years old. That's why it's been so hard to update. If you do a search here at COW, I believe you'll find the Cury discussions. I know Steve and Lee Keppler had phone conversations with these folks, and both received sample felt.
Worst felt I ever saw. I doubt if HJ ever used them for the felt bodies, even the worse HJ felt I ever saw was better than the samples I got from Cury. Now, there are other companies in that neck of the woods that HJ may have sourced bodies from. And they have decent bodies too. I would bet that if South American felt was used, it was not from Cury. A friend of my fianceé was offered Cury Indiana Jones hats as "the original Indiana Jones Hat" on a fleamarked here in northern Germany. She knows NOTHING about hats, but even to her it looked like @#$%
DISCLAIMER
I haven't seen those fleamarked hats myself, so I'm only reporting what I heard.
wow, I've been really away for a long time Michaelson. I thought the cury episode was already long over. I've got a cury here somewhere.. it just totally isn't what they say it is. It's @#$%.
It was, and WHERE IN THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN???????
Folks, for those of you who don't recognize our old friend, DJ, he's an oldtimer and friend who was one of the very FIRST to explore this Cury company many MANY years ago and started the first actual dialog with them as well.
thanks for the warm welcome Michaelson. I've been very very busy with other stuff these past year(s). But I hope to log in here from time to time.
yet again, thanks fot the warm welcome!
It's great to be back Michaelson. Nice to be remembered. But I was one of the first to register to COW. Don't know which number I have... top ten at least.
Yep. Raunchy or not, it has a place in gear 'history', as it was the first example I'm aware of that was found. Dust it off and give it a place of honor in your collection.
It's Part III, LeChuck's Fortress. After you go through that door you get caught by LeChuck and you and Wally are locked into the Torture Chamber, where you have to spit the candle's light out before you are lowered into the acid.
