Fraying bag

I prefer to distress my gear the natural way, and my old WPG bag is definitely showing it. However, I've noticed the seam areas on the bottom of the bag are beginning to fray. Has anyone figured a way to stop them from fraying any further? I don't mind the look, but I'd hate to wear a hole in the bottom of my bag while the rest of it is perfectly fine. Suggestions?

Don't have a digital camera, sorry. If you look at the bottom of your bag where the panels meet, you can tell the material has been folded over before stitiching. It's that folded over area which is fraying.

OK. I'd probably go ahead and do some stiches that are perpendicular to the ones already there to stop it from eating all the way in. This could probably be done from the inside aswell in case you want them invisible. Maybe even padding it up with some extra fabric from the inside?

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking about doing, though I was curious if there were any other ideas floating about. Either way, the bag's got character!

You could carefully coat it on the inside with PVA wood glue, it might hold the frayed strands together, it will also waterproof it some.

Go to the local fabric store and pick up a bottle of fabric glue. All you have to do is smear on a thin layer at the edge and it will stop the threads from unraveling.

Anyone have the snaps pop off their WPG bag? One of my snaps came off yesterday. I exopied it back together but I have never even used the bag yet. I'm scared to see what happends with a little abuse.

I've used my WPG everyday for the last 2 years, carrying tools and anything else that would fit, and outside of a little wear and tear, have never had a problem.

Is your bag brand new and recently purchased from a shop? If so, I'd contact the seller and see if they'll replace it.
