Magnoli or Wested

Post by Mulceber »

I've been thinking recently about getting an uber-screen accurate Indy shirt, but I'm not sure which to go with: Magnoli's or the Wested shirt. Could someone advise me on the pro's and con's of each of them? :junior: -IJ

A major advantage of buying from Magnoli is that the shirts -- or trousers, or suits -- are made to your measurements. You don't have to buy an L, Xl, etc. And, from personal experience, the Wested shirts fit too tight -- other XL shirts are plenty large for me, often too large, but a Wested XL is too tight through the shoulders, arms and chest for me.

Just my two cents worth.

And for me, it's the other way around though the arms are a bit short on my Wested. The way I see it, it is always nice to get measured garments if you can.

Indy shirt

Dont forget to remember that a dress shirt size is also available at What Price Glory. I bought one with the knowledge that the sleeves would shrink up a bit upon first washing. They did, and he offered to replace it. In fact, he sent the replacement before I sent the original back to him. His listing needs to be changed from 'Prototype' to Available Now on the main Indygear.com page. He has most dress shirt sizes in stock.

The biggest problem with the WPG shirt from what I've seen is that its got enough room in the body to 2 or 3 gearheads.

yea i just got a WPG and the first size was a 17X33 and the sleeve was like 4 inches shorter than it should be. Even measuring from my collar down my arm, it didnt measure 33 inch. The 17 fit pterry tight around my body , but because of shrinkage iw as afraid to keep it. So i sent back for an 18x36. Now the shirt fits 2 people. I'm going to send that one back too or sell it and buy a wested or a magnoli. Is there measurements anywhere for the wested shirt, so i can tell if i need an xl or xxl?

there is a review of magnoli's shirt knocking about here somewhere. I don't have one of his so I cant comment. you can always email wested for more details on their sizes. I have had one for a year and it is just right for me (luck more than anything). It has also worn very well.
