Surprise!!! I have an Adventurebilt!
If anyone ever asked me what the hardest thing I ever had to do was, I would probably have to say that would be keeping it a secret from you guys here that I ordered myself an Adventurebilt after I came back from the QM in November!
On Tuesday evening as I got in from work, there was a card waiting for me in my mail. Unfortunately, as I was at work all week I had to wait until this weekend until I could pick it up. So this morning, I picked up this masterpiece from the post Office and just couldn’t wait to get it home!
Well, what can I say? I saw these fedora's for real at the QM and was blown away by the work and craftsmanship that had been put into these hats.
I have to say, Steve, you truly are a talented and gifted individual. This is the greatest Indy fedora that I have ever seen!
I must confess. Only a few Gearheads know that I had ordered an AB.
As for the bash, I know that the Streets of Cairo look is very popular around here, but for me personally, I wanted to go for something a bit different from Raiders, so I ordered it as a Well of the Souls hat.
Today, I took loads of pictures which I will now post for you.
Lastly, I got a feeling I’m possibly the first female Gearhead here who has ordered an AB!!! Woohoo!
Now for the pictures...
The idol pose.
"Sallah!"
The scene that the hat was modeled on.
Ah, a mountain...
Some shots of the hat by itself
This is too cool, I have C A N Y O N stamped in the sweatband!
Me -re-attaching my whip in my whipholder.
Ah, I would love for someone to draw this in a movie poster for me!
Renderking, this is for you!
The Toy's McCoy Indy wanted to join me for these last two shots

Canyon,
You look great in all your gear and especially your AB
It is neat to have a "Mini-Me" isn't it! I'm working on an outfit for my little grandson. The problem may be that he won't co-operate as well as yours
I hope one day to attend a Summit and meet you in person. You must be a little gearhead, by the looks of that huge holster.
Wear your new hat in good health,
Prof. Ed
P.S. I just looked at your website. Really cute pictures. The first one of you in your Marion style dress took me aback. In that lighting and pose you look like one of my three daughters. Pretty, of course.

Whooo!!! Hoooo!!! Congrats!!!! It looks great!! Excellent pictures.
Well of Souls is a great bash. Mine is more of a Well of Souls now, after I learned that the hat has to be basically dismantled to get an SOC look.
Yours looks fantastic. Don't be afraid to pinch around on it and refine what Steve did. Welcome aboard.

It really looks nice, Canyon! But... and I hate to say but at all... I think you might want to curl your brim downwards in front a little bit. 8-[ *takes cover behind a bookcase* I just think it would make it even better!

Thank you all so much for your kind comments and enthusiasm about my AB!
As for my holster, well let's just say that we're all short in our family (I stand at 5' 2")
Aww, you guys....
I guess you're trying to figure that out, huh?
The thing is, I didn't want to post that I was getting a hat like everyone else because firstly, when I post about getting new gear, I tend to like having the pictures then and there, as I know that everyone here loves seeing photos of new gear acquisitions. Secondly, I just thought it would be really cool for it to be a suprise for everyone. Sorry for any deception.
Haha. Fantastic quote, Shane!
I've been curling the brim a bit today, and refining the dent a bit more, so I will post a few more pictures when I'm done.
Jens, that expression on my face even scares me.IndyJens wrote:Let me be the first one to say: Congratulations, Stella! Very nice new hat. It's a precious, isn't it?! And it suits you sooo well! Thumbs up!
And those pictures are great. I like the sixth photo most - cool face!
Kind regards,
Jens
Thanks. I'm glad I did, too.Indiana Williams wrote:Congratulations, Canyon
