Just received my AB!

Post by Floribama Steve »

I know it's not polite to wear a hat inside, but this hat has married my head. Wonderful, simply wonderful; and it fits perfectly. I might post some photos soon, but right now I just want to say how happy I am. :D

Thank you Steve!

From what I've been seeing today, it appears IndyKid89 has discovered some different smilies.

Glad to hear the AB's are moving again, though I know Steve is still waiting for his shipment of hat bodies.

michaelson, It's funny how poeple's avatar change after getting a big ticket item like The Adventurebilt. I also notice a few of avatar's (since I have been gone) have that Penman look to them.

Looks great! Good job on setting up the pictures, too. Makes the hat look the way it should.

PS- My avatar is definately a nod to JPenman.

My avatar is a nod at bink. Actually, it's a knock at bink, but who's paying attention? How much does attention cost, anyway?

I digress.

That middle pic is sweet, FLA. Boy, I love that Adventurebilt block!

Michaelson, sorry didn't mean it that way. Big ticket item could have been any high qaulity item. Like Fedora , jacket and so forth. It was not a dig on your hat.

Smooth lid, man! I swear, you got some GOOD lighting going on there. The crown in the middle and last pic looks like the Raiders poster. Glad you enjoy it. Give it a quick turn, and the brim will look really good.

Yeah, I lucked out with the lighting. The front door is all glass and it let in the perfect shaft through the hall. And I do plan on tweaking the brim some when I have the time.

NEVER!!! :D

Floribama....just a suggestion....don't tweak it yet.....just wear it. Folks get in a big hurry to tweak these fine hats (actually ANY of our hats), but each and every one of them will take on the personality of the individual wearing it. I assure you, you can tweak it until the cows come home, but you'll never be totally satisfied. If you just wear it, you'll discover that it will develop a look that is totally YOU, as the brim and crown will shape itself to YOU pulling on this, or pushing on that while you wear it. After a while, it will look so natural on you, folks will think you've had it for years, when all you've done is allow it to age and develop naturally from use. I guarantee it.

Now, in my best Belloq voice...."Do as you will....."

High regards!

And to think you carved out that statue as a tribute to ME! You're a swell guy, Hemingway, unlike Jerry, who's about to be swollen!

Dont mind at all... I've had to grow my hair out for Van Helsing in Dracula... show goes up next week, and so far I think I'll be wearing my (close enough) indy shoes, and probably my Mark VII bag...
