Webley gunsmiths

Post by dr. tyree »

Are there any smiths out there who still perform the .45 acp conversion to the MK VI?

I'll check with Jack De'Vore at the Phoenix show this weekend, but be warned, you are taking half the value of your gun and flushing it down the pot by converting a Webley to .45 ACP at this point in time. Back in the 1950's when .455 ammunition was not available, and Webley's were a dime a dozen, it made sense, but not today. It would be like taking a stone stock 1957 Harley-Davidson Big Twin in excellent condition and building a chopper out of it. PLEASE leave this collectable firearm in stock condition. After all, you wouldn't want to take an un-issued MK Vll bag and dye it black, would you :D ?
