One new thread as promised....

Post by FloatinJoe »

.... See Hemmingway, I told you I'd get off your thread once my jacket got here.

Well, I've been on vacation for the last week and got into town this weekend. Today after work, I pedaled home just as fast as my bike would take me and I made it into the door at my apartment office just as the manager was about to lock the door. I knew I had a few packages, but I didn't think my Wested would be in the group. Needless to say, I was extremely surprised to see it in the stack.

I grabbed my packages and quickly pushed my bike home the next three blocks (one of the packages was a big box, my new millenary hat stands for my lids).

I got home and opened the package. The jacket was sealed in a plastic bag with its certificate and a piece of green tissue paper. I opened the bag and unfolded the jacket. I was shocked by how small it was, and was a bit afraid that it wouldn't fit. (I bought a second hand 46 long and it is much bigger than the jacket I ordered.) My next thought was that Peter measured me at the QM and there was no way this could be wrong. I put the jacket on and it fit like a glove. I am so excited about it. I just want to call Peter and order every kind of jacket he makes... I've never had a jacket fit this well.

As for the specs ordered, they are listed below.
  • Style: Raiders (80s cut)
  • Fabric: Lambskin
  • Size: 46
  • Colour: Authentic
  • Length: 24"
  • Shoulders: 6 1/2" (I think that's what the order form says.... hope Peter can read his handwriting, I'm not sure I can, obviously he did read it right)
  • Sleeves: 26"
  • Lining: Cotton/satin
  • Zipper: Brass
  • Straps: Sliders with "x-box" stitching
  • Reinforced stitching on the hand warmer pockets.
I couldn't ask for anything better. I will post pics as soon as I can get someone to take some... I also owe you some AdventureBilt pics.

Now Mike, I'll have to think of something to piggy-back off of your thread! :D
The jacket sounds great and I cannot wait to see the pictures. You're right about how small lambskin looks in the package. It really packs flat, almost like a cotton jacket. That's part of the reason it drapes so well.

Hey Joe, I'm happy for you.

My new Authentic lamb 80's cut arrived this past saturday as well. Except I'm a 40 reg. I didn't think it would arrive so soon.

I can't take it off.
