Thank you, Tone. Im hoping it turns out good(I know it will.) I forgot to add the x-box stiching in the original order so I hope peter gets the email I sent him about adding it.I dont think Ill out grow it cause for me a 40 is a little big, a 38 would have been a perfect fit. so Im sure Ill be able to wear the jacket for years to come

When I first got mine I didn't like the facing on the inner pocket, a few months later it has grown on me and I like it a lot. It holds the pocket together and it is a fine, quality, detail.

Check out the pics my www below if you haven't already, there are some of the details you have been asking about.

I just placed the order for my Wested. \:D/ \:D/ the specs on it are:

INDY JACKET:

Height: 5'8''
Chest: 40
Sleeve: 24''
Jacket_Size: 40R
Jacket style: Raiders Jacket
Leather: Authentic Brown - Goatskin
Lining / Zip: Cotton Body-Satin Sleeves (rec)
Side Fastener: Anodised Black Rectangular Slider(buckle)
Special Requests:
Under Arm Gussets
Tapered Sleeves
80's fit
x-box stiching
I cant wait to own and wear one of these fine jackets.and now the wait begins...
Best Regards,
Joe

As far as the special requests go I know you have to pay extra for the gussets and extra pockets but do you have to pay more for things like different sized collar , tapered sleeves and x-box stiching?

I was also wandering what people thought about the Raider's collar without any alterations? I was just wondering if it looked to big and that's why people were ordering different sizes.

Just trying to figure out some stuff because I plan on ordering mine soon. :)

Xbox stitching and tapered sleeves are free. Some people think that the standard collar is too big (my 44L's Raiders is 2¾" wide) and that's why they want a smaller one.

In your opinion does the normal collar look okay? I would think if it would be more authentic to the film if you didn't mess with the collar.

Just as long as I don't look like "Disco Stu" with the normal collar I don't think I'll have them mess with that. :)

In my opinion it looks great, especially after some wear. If it keeps looking stupid you can always try MK's Magic Collar Fix™.

My Wested arrived today and I couldnt be more pleased with it.Thank you so much, Peter, for making me an awesome jacket .It took just over 3 weeks for it to get here, which really suprised me.I wasnt expecting it for another week.I was really amaized at how well it fit me, it was almost as if Peter measured me in person. Im also really glad I changed the color to Dark Brown Goat, I like how it looks black indoors and a nice brown in the sunlight.I have some pics I can post but I have to wait till they get developed :(

Well unfourtinitly I have to send my beautiful jacket back to be exchanged  it seems that I need a size larger.Ive noticed when I zip up the jacket and cross my arms across my chest, I can hear the horizontal seam on the back stretching. The strange thing is when I was mesuring my chest, it measured 38'' and I ordered a 40''.so I feel I need to exchange it for a 42.I want to send it back ASAP so I can maybe get my new jacket by christmas. I do have pics that I will be posting with in the next couple of days.

I bet your jacket would have fit just fine without the 80's fit option. IIRC, the 80's fit is suppose to make the jacket a tighter and more form fitting than normal sizing.

Hopefully you'll get it back soon! Don't worry, Pete and the guys at Wested will take care of you!

Indiana_Tone wrote:That's too bad about the jacket. Was really looking forward to seeing that coat. I'd thought you nailed the order. Sure you don't want to put the pics of the current jacket up here first before sending it back? (I'm thinking you got a perfect fitting Raiders jacket but have a more loose-fitting, contemporary jacket in mind - which is not quite how the Raiders should wear.) Either way, you're not happy with it, but before you go sending it back....these are how the 42s drape on you.
Tone,
I took some pics of me wearing it and I will post them tommarow.I plan on shipping the jacket on Monday. the jacket fits perfect, its just that when wear the jacket I can hear and feel the back seam stretch when I cross my arms.the reason I want to go up a size is that I dont want the seam to rip in a few months or so and have to pay to have it fixed.besides I remember that your jacket fit me pretty well.I will post those pics tommarow so check back and let me know what you think?

That's IW, wearing Indiana Tone's jacket at the Queen Mary summit. Since it was made for (the taller) Tone, it looks long on IW.

However, I agree with what Tone has said about the 80's fit option. I forgot you had that, so I didn't think to say anything about it until I re-read that you did. The 80's fit Raiders jacket is supposed to fit a little tight, and IMO, if you heard the seem stretching, I wouldn't have worried so much. Honestly, it's when the thing breaks that you have a problem.

Honestly, I would've waited until you could wear the jacket all the time (since you can't really wear the sucker until Christmas) to see if it grew on you at all. Besides, if you only felt the seam stretching when you zipped it up and crossed your arms over your chest .... well, how often are you going to be doing that? Unless you're doing sit ups in your jacket.

Here's hoping you're happy with the end result!

actually me and Tone are about the same height, the reason the jacket looks so long on me is cause I have a short upperbody.I still plan on exchanging it just to be on the safe side.cause I would feel really stupid if in a month or so the seam ripped.I will try and post those pics tomarrow, I couldnt find the time to post them today. Tone, I remember that your new wested fit me well, so Im not worried that a 42 would look baggey.

Didn't you take your shoulder measurements and send them to Wested? You can do all the measurements yourself and get a jacket made EXACTLY for your size.

Well I'm going to jump in first and say it actually "looks" pretty good to me. But if you are sure it's too tight then ask for a bigger size, you don't "have" to go up in 2" increments either! That dark brown verrry nice!

One thing I will say is you could loose 2" off the length, easy, to get more of a Raiders look, mine is maybe a little long on me but that's cos I'm a short arse.

I'm also going to be presumptious and say: if you are as young as you look then you will almost certainly have a little filling out to do and a slightly looser jacket wouldn't hurt. There is always the "Freshman 10" factor!

Yeah, it looks like a great fit. But as you know, you're not done growing so a larger jacket is the way to go. If you were 19 or 20, I'd say keep it but you did the right thing, considering.

TONE... I think it would depend on the amount of wear if Peter would take it back. Never hurts to ask, man. Someone here recently had their sleeves let out a bit by a local tailor. You might want to go that route. With the amount of leather hemmed under on a Wested you may not get the whole 1 1/2" back but you'd probably be able to get an inch. The creases left behind will need some working out. I posted in the other thread with some helpful (hopefully) info on dealing with that.

Thats what I thought. It would be wise, in the long run, to exchange it for a larger size.

Well I figured I'd update everyone on my jacket situation.I recieved an email from Gemma telling me they recieved my original jacket. she aslo mentioned that she needs to speak with the "leather cutter" because it is an 80's fit :? . I was hoping Id have my new jacket by christmas but I have a gut feeling I wont be seeing it until after the new year :( but if do thats allright cause I rather have a Wested period. so heres hoping that my jacket problem works itself out.
