Indiana Jones and the quest for the Flight Suits catalog

Post by Obiwampa »

OK, I'm a patient guy, but I have sent FS no less than 5 e-mails asking for their catalog, and still no catalog. I sent the first one about 2 years ago. No catalog. I sent the second one at the beginning of Nov. No catalog. I sent 3 consecutive requests, (though they ask you not to), about 2 weeks ago. As of yesterday, no catalog. I dont really NEED one, my GF is getting me the EXP. for Christmas, I would just LIKE to have one. Just to thumb through along with my golden book. Is that too much to ask????? :x What is there a paper shortage or something? Is there a secret password I dont know about? I really want their jacket and as soon as I get it I probably wont care about the stupid catalog anymore, but It's the principle!!!! They claim it's free, so where is it??? Is there some guy in Crablakistan, papering his walls with my catalogs?????

So why do they even bother having an online order form if they are just going to ignore the orders and have people call them on the phone?? I'm not sending them these e-mails for kicks. Is this what my girlfriend should expect when she orders my jacket online? I would e-mail FS with these questions, but it would obviously do no good.

That is so weird because I got their catalog after ordering one on-line.. the first time, and I have actually forgot that I had one coming so it was a pleasant surprise - I want one of their A-1 s  but can't afford it, story of my life.

Obiwampa......Obiwampa.......Let it go.

Never received mine after umpteen tries online and a phone call. They didn't seem interested in my business. Just another reason to buy a Wested. I sent three inquiries to Wested concerning some details on a possible new jacket purchase. All were answered within 48 hours. Wested was both accommodating and courteous. I place my order with them. At first, I thought I'd found a prize but I really found illumination.

I'm sorry to hear about not receiving the catalog from Gibson & Barnes....

I agree with Sergei, that talking to someone over the phone is probably best.

A few months ago, there was another gearhead looking to purchase the Expedition jacket. I may be wrong, but I "think" that he had some problems with the Emails also for some reason. After calling and chatting with someone on the phone, all of his questions were answered and he received his Indy jacket shortly thereafter, of which he was well pleased with.

The representative whom I talked to when I placed my order (as well as this other gearhead) placed their order with a fella named Jeremy. He can be reached at: jeremy@gibson-barnes.com And, the extention to his number is: 205. Jeremy is very responsive and glad to help answer any of your questions that you may have. I would contact Jeremy directly, either through Email or over the phone, and I don't think that you'll be disapointed in his customer service.

I hope that this helps!
Kindest Regards,
Captain D

Yep!! That was probably me. And you are close to correct. After several e-mails back and forth between myself and Jeremy, I called him personally and ordered my Expedition. Jeremy WAS very helpful. I had also previously emailed Jackie regarding a jacket in their clearance section and that e-mail was also promptly responded to. The problem I was having was getting the specs/measurements on the Expedition jacket. Let me also say I did not receive any catalog with my order, but I hadn't requested one either. I know some companies throw them in the box with every order. I know I got one from US Wings somehow, and when last I was at Wings, Sgt. Hack offered me another. His catalog is a lot of fun to look through.

Hey there IndyJim :D ,

Yeah, now I remember ya!

The same thing happened with me, as well, with regards to their catalog. The first time I ordered the Expedition jacket, I didn't get one. But when I sent it back for a smaller size, then it came. I also recently received another/updated catalog a few weeks ago or so in the mail. It's good seeing ya again there IndyJim!! Take care!

Kind Regards,
Captain D
