Wested's crankin' em' out. Got my ToD in 2 weeks!!!
I was shocked when I saw other members get their jackets in 2 weeks. Well mine just came after a little over 2 weeks since the order.
What a jacket!! I ordered the ToD style in horsehide, although I think Wested may have used kevlar . Seriously, this leather is tough and substantially heavier that the Raiders goat I own. I plan on wearing it as much as possible to try and break it in some and I am hoping it will relax and conform to my body as others have said this hide is prone to do. The fit is spot on with a 42 R, although Wested did not put a size tag in the jacket. I was also obcessing over the sleeve length, but they come down slightly past my first thumb knuckle which satisfies me. Should anyone be looking for a tough jacket that can stand up to punishment I would definitely recommend this hide. If you are more concerned with jacket weight/drape then I would probably steer you toward one of the other leathers. I plan on distessing this jacket naturally, if thats possible . I will post picks when I can borrow my Brother-in-laws digital camera. I'm still rubbing two sticks together here with my old film one.

This is QUITE amazing...this is more than one or two, so I guess it's not a fluke...did they suddenly hire on more folks, or they just had a LONG run of good fortune? These are too fast to believe they just aren't busy, and anyway we KNOW they are at this time of year.
Wow...I hope this keeps up, it'll be a great improvement!
(Peter, whatever you're doing...don't jinx it! )

I agree that it is amazing that Peter and the folks at Wested are getting the jackets out this quickly. Let me also say that this is not at the expense of quality. Everything about my jacket is top notch. I also know it simply was'nt pulled off a rack and shipped due to some mods like the zip on American side, x box stitching, ect. Hope this pace continues to keep the Wested withdrawal minimal for others ordering jackets !

My wife and I had such a great time at the LA summit, finishing with few days in Palm Springs by the pool where I had time to reflect on the contructive advice given to me by many of your associates with regards to the jacket.
It would appear that for the most part all are satisfied the jacket is right and the only bugbear was the wait time.
So, having given back the lovely Mustang convertable to Hertz and flown 10.5 hours in seat I could not wait to get out of I decided to cut the wait time where possible.
A lot depends on skin availability and film commitments but we do have staff who now only make indyjackets and this helps in production time.
I make no promises but hope I can maintain our quick turnround, though as I speak we are waiting on goatskin.
I make no promises but am trying to get output form 21 days to 14 with Luck.
Thank all again for a great time, especially to some odd chap who kept muttering 9 of spades, a juice head but not dangerous, called himself a doctor or Doc had a friend with a flathead although I did not not notice, but then being British one would not mention it. He resembled a charactor from Harry Potter who I recently made for called Mad Eyed Moodie.
Got to stop writing as I am dribleingas I muse again over the Mustang on the open road .
Cheers
Peter

Peter,
Good to hear both you and the wife had a great time here in the states. So much here to do.
Just wanted to touch on what you'd posted above.
I do admire the fact that you first listen to us here and second, are concerned with the speed at which you put the jackets out. However, I am so very much more concerned that the jacket will have all the mods requested in place before it ships rather than the speed at which it will get here. I have no problem waiting for my jacket so long as it has all the mods requested.
I know in the past there have been fairly consistant posts about a jacket modification or two not making it onto an order. For instance, forgot the sliders or no XBox stitch or forgot to lessen the collar width, etc. It is then up to us to decide whether to send it back and wait longer, just keep it and settle for it as is or try to sell it here or on Ebay. Now, I know that Wested has probably the best customer service offered here on this board but it is still harder for us here in the states to have to deal with sending the jackets back and in the end it is Wested who pays for it if the customs form are correctly filled out.
My suggestion is (and I hope you don't think me out of line here) to do a thorogh checklist of each and every jacket before it goes out. I think it could only make for happier gearheads who would be sure to get the jacket and all the silly mods correct the first time and also make for a happier Wested who would not be paying for return after return.
You know entirely well that we are an overly picky bunch here and I have to say I do honestly and from my heart appreciate that you do these custom mods. Even though I have no interest whatsoever in any of the other jacket vendors, it's my understanding that Wested is the only one that will do custom orders anymore. Thank God for that!
I imagine it could be a hastle to keep up with every order with all the different mods coming in on different orders. I'm now on my 5th Wested jacket and hope to do more business with Wested in the future, especially on a custom jacket so I'm sure you can understand why I have these concerns.
I hope you can take this into consideration and keep on making the best and only Indy jacket out there in my opinion.

Well thank you my man!
It is my love of this industry as fikkle as it is that keeps me going even though as some of you probably realize it is not a business must for me.
I genuinly appreciate the cameraderie that goes with Indyfan's and hope to supply an affordable service to those who appreciate its fanbase.
I will endeavor to complete the orders to the letter, or with the checklist as suggested but you must realize that I am not at my age totally hands on and errors do happen. Love you all just wish I was 30 years younger and been more of an explorer with others on the QM
Cheers

Not sure I understood all of that... I was mumbling something about the 9 of Spades. But as far as the rest of what you said I have no clue what it means... maybe cause I'm Polish or maybe because I'm reading it wrong.
Peter I have my signed card and it will be heading your way after the holidays with my jacket order! Keep an eye out... or a mad eye as it may be.

Well.
This fits in with the e-mail I just got today from Gemma. I had written Wested after ordering my jacket to see if it was going to take longer than normal because of the holidays fast approaching and Gemma told me that they are trying to fill alot of the orders so they can be sent out a week from yesterday (Wednesday).
Now I'm not sure if my jacket is going to be in with that group or not and it really doesn't matter because waiting is not a problem for me. I would hate for them to rush my order and have some mistake slip by and make it out the door.
I am truely looking forward to getting the jacket though. This is the first time I've ever had something custom made for me. I'm also excited that my jacket is being created by the actually company that made Harrison's jackets. It's like owning a part of the film in a roundabout way.
