Jacket Recieved! in 1 week 6 days

Post by Masterfulks »

Well I unexpectedly received my TOD wested and it's perfect.

The sleeves are great (a big worry) and everything else is just like it should be.

I'm about to check to see how close the measurements are.

Pics on the way.

One thing I did notice is that if I had ordered the Raiders Jacket, I think it would have been close to being too short.

Of course I need to post some pictures to see if the fit is as good as it feels.

Where do you live? If you're in Kent, a week and 6 days is about right. In Kenya, San Francisco, or Mongolia, then I am impressed! :D

The London completion time is 1 week 8). The rest is the fault of Parcelforce! (not really folks i am being facetious!)

Actually, recently they have been hitting very quick deliveries. (Erri's jacket not included) :(

That looks like a great fit MF!

That is a great fit! 8) Did you ask that them to taper the back panel?

That is impressive timing! Also, the back of that jacket looks incredible! It is one of the best back shots I have ever seen.

Actually no I made no special requests to the back of the jacket.

I think it appears to have more of a taper because my hands are resting of the sides of the jacket.

Thank you everyone for helping get this order right!

I really dont think I'd change anything about this jacket.

I noticed you mention that you live in Gulfport, MS. I sang in two different bands that played a club in Biloxi, back in the early 90's. Did you ever go to the "Crazy Horse" there... years ago, by chance? Just seeing how small the world might be...

Congrats again,

Ken
Thanks!
It somewhat rings a bell. Some places around here go out before you can pay your bill though. :)

Although I never was much of a club guy.

Interesting. For a TOD order it makes one heckuva nice Raiders jacket.
Curious; what were the specs on the order? Looks like you ordered a TOD and then spec'd a Raiders by the time you were finished. :D

Looks great, though.
Well I was going to go with a TOD, then a Raiders with an extra inch in the front.

Then I figured "well if the TOD is an Inch all around longer than the Raiders....then why not just get the extra inch all around instead of just up front."

So I asked for a TOD.

My chest is 43" and I ordered a 44R jacket with 25 3/4" sleeves.

I specified that I wanted a cuff opening of 11.25"

I personally think the cuff measurement is a must to get the sleeves to taper correctly. I gave them my bicep measurement of 16", but said that I like the fit of a 44R's sleeves around my upper arm. I asked for a "slight taper" for the sleeves as well.

I went with two piece gussets, but now that I've looked, I think I got the one piece. Unless I'm just not understanding what they look like. With that said I do not mind at all. The freedom this jacket gives is plenty. I don't feel restricted at all. If they are one piece, I'd just be dissapointed that they didnt do what I asked.

I gave no specific measurements for the back and front of the jacket. I just said my height of 6'1".

I think if the Jacket was 1" shorter (ie a Raiders cut) I would be really cutting it close to being too short. I think it sits absolutely perfectly the way it is.

I guess I could measure the back and compare it to Wested's site.

It's most likely more of a body type thing than that 1".

Whoa, that one slipped past me! That was supposed to be a TOD?? That is DEFINATELY a Raiders length! That is what is so attractive about it to me. No TOD length there, ALL RAIDERS!!

have a nice day.

I just checked and the back measurement is exactly 27" from the tip of the collar (folded over as if you are wearing it) to the bottom of the jacket.

The website lists the back length on a 44R as 25.25"

So I'm 1.75" longer. Assuming this is the same way Wested makes their measurements. A 44Long has a back measurement of 27"

So perhaps I got a 44Long Raiders cut due to my height.

Or It's a 44R TOD with an extra .75" of adjustment for my height.

The COA does state TOD...Not that that means the Jacket has to match. :)

:)

I just wanted it to cover the top of my back pocket on a pair of jeans.

I guess I need to see a TOD and Raiders cut on someone my size to really compare.

That is a great jacket - now between my Aero and Lambskin Wested, I think I'll be calling Peter again for yet another leather (you can never have enough --as long as the wife can't find 'em)

It's a perfect jacket that compliments you wonderfully. I wouldn't quibble over whether it is a TOD or a Raiders. Just enjoy one of the best jackets we've ever seen. :D

I wouldn't worry too much about the website thing. It's been years since they followed it to spec. You can list the website specs as a special request, otherwise, they will make the jacket slightly larger than the website.

Another great jacket  Raiders or TOD, I wouldn't worry about it. I think the length is perfect, whatever it is. If it was mistake, you erred on the side of good fortune, IMHO
