Quick last minute question before order!!

Post by mantis3214 »

Hey all! I was all set to order then I see it asks for the jacket size... I have all of my measurements, but hadn't figured this out. Here are my dimensions:

height: 5'8"
chest : 38in
sleeve 24in
waist 33 1/2
shoulderspan: 18"
backlength: 22"

What size should I order? 38 reg? I dont want it to be too long, and I dont want it to be too small. Please!!!

Others may jump in, but it looks like you've got the bases covered. The only things I added to my order to help them make a decision were my current suit jacket and dress shirt sizes (in my case, 42 regular and 16" x 34" respectively). As a result, we got it right on the first try and mine fit perfectly.

The only questions I'd ask you is, depending on how old you are, are you expecting to grow any further? If so, you might want to go up one size to give you a longer period of wear. The same might hold true if you were planning to layer underneath it.

Any other opinions from the crowd?

Cheers!

im 19, i may grow a tiny bit but not enough to warrant ordering a larger size I think... I tried on a friend's 38 regular jacket(it was a dress jacket) and it seemed really long, although I am new to this kind of thing and have no idea if the 38 regular was longer than a normal one or whatever, I am a bit confused here. So what should I put down? I would love someone to explain the meaning of the jacket size (in terms of what dimensions it means). Thanks for the quick reply, Baggers.

ok. I get the size, forget it. 38 regular should be ok for me. What should I do about length? Will the length be ok?

wait, ok my back length is 22. The 38 regular on the indyjacket site says it is 24 inches. Should this be ok or will it be too long? Do I have to request them to make it smaller?

22" for the back length seems a bit short! A 40 SHORT is 24 inches on the Indy jacket, cutting 2 whole inches off is quite a bit! I'd talk to Peter on this one. I'm 5'9" and wear a 40 and that's only an inch taller than you, and the back length is fine. I don't even know if Wested will make one that short  I dunno..

have a nice day.

I would go with the website. But you have to specify that length. I'm 5'10" and I requested a 25.5 back length and I got a perfect Raiders length. Since their website is outdated, their current back measuremets are a bit too TOD IMHO.

well.. that felt good :D Ordered@!!! I simply requested a 23" length, if possible. All should be well.

Height: 68 in (5\'8\")
Chest: 38 in
Sleeve: 24 in
Jacket_Size: 38 reg
Jacket style: Raiders Jacket
Leather: Dark Brown - Lambskin
Lining / Zip: Cotton Body-Satin Sleeves (rec)
Side Fastener: Anodised Black Rectangular Slider(buckle)
Jacket Quantity: 1

Requests: -If possible, I would prefer a 23\" length. -Sliders with X-box stitching -Raiders size collar I took a few more measurements, if they can be of any help: -Shoulder to shoulder 18\" -33 1/2 \" waist Thanks!

You did what I did. When I was in doubt, I gave myself an extra inch here or there to make sure I got it right. All in all, I sent them my custom measurements, and had the jacket made specifically for them instead of ordering an off the rack size. This made the jacket feel more personal to me, and the second I put it on, I knew I had gotten it right.

Here's hoping yours fits perfectly!

Just send Wested all your measurements. If you want it to look as much like the onscreen jacket as possible them tell them this and they will figure out if you need regular or not.
